In my humbled opinion the defensive backs had the strongest outings in regards to all the position groups. Several of the top performers keep in mind were dabbling in the receivers so a lot of back n forth was occurring at the Bridgeport Sports Complex. Many of the players below could of been top performers in other groups but we settled on them for our Secondary Top Standouts.

I wrote about Gateway star Shawn Moorefield Jr. in my preview articles and the PA native came ready to play! Moorefield was the MVP of the defensive back group, he had several excellent 1v1 battles all day. A rising senior who made his presence known at both receiver and corner, as the day progressed it was clear he was the top guy.

What stood out to me the most was how after he worked with the coaches on site, you could notice the difference. Not only does it show how coachable he is, but also how special he can be. Congrats to MVP honors, you earned it!

[player_tooltip player_id='1326514' first='Hayden' last='George'] was battling some of the top wideouts in West Virginia all Sunday afternoon. Love how physical he is from the snap, watch this rep below and tell me I am wrong? A class of 2027 watch lister he is bound to see his stock rise before his junior season begins.

Lot to like from Washington High School's [player_tooltip player_id='1161083' first='Phillip' last='Shields'] who turned in quite the outing. The sophomore to be was good and made a strong push for the MVP honors. Constantly looking down wideouts during the 1vs1 portion, Shields was the most physical defensive back present.

I thought Wiley was a baller at receiver before the showcase but he proved he is a standout corner with outing on Sunday. Wheeling Park rising senior [player_tooltip player_id='894631' first='Kolin' last='Wiley'] earned a top performer spot particularly for his work in 1vs1s. A straight up competitor who did some nice things with the receiver group too, Wiley is 6'3 and is physical from the point of attack. Really like his future at corner even after his impressive junior campaign on the other side of the football.

Another sophomore who compete his tail off Sunday was Morgantown's [player_tooltip player_id='1588447' first='Tanzer' last='George']. This young man has good length and size you could really see him have a banner year in 2025 with the way he is progressing. Very fluid hip movement during the individual drills and 1v1s George earned a top performer spot.
