Leading his Chargers team to the Class 2A state title game as a freshman, Simpson had a stellar first high school season under center where he threw for 4,135 yards on 239 completions for 59 touchdowns and only one interception. That's one hell of a season that any quarterback in the state would love to put on their recruiting resume and Simpson did that as only a freshman. Besides throwing for a bunch of yards, Simpson also ran the offense and team as a vet, someone with great poise and control. I don't expect anything less than three more exceptional season's from this West TN freshman, who could end his career with a few Mr. Football wins and state championships.

Starks made his mark in a big way this season as the team's bell cow back over the next three years with a sensational freshman season that saw him run for 1,480 yards and 23 touchdowns. It was an excellent debut for this West TN ball carrier and one that established Starks as one of the top back prospects coming out of his region and for the #TN2028 recruiting class. It will be fun to watch how the Cougars running back develops over the next few years and continues to boost his stock for the next level.

The Eubanks name runs strong through the Mustangs program with this freshman linebacker being the next in-line, especially after an outstanding debut season. Starting as a true freshman, Eubanks was highly disruptive and productive where he put up 100 overall tackles along with 17 tackles for loss and 11 sacks on the season. Among other veterans, Eubanks was the team's best defensive player as a freshman, so I expect him to continue leading this side of the ball for the Mustangs over the next three years.

This Chargers freshman is a name to know going forward as a talented two-way lineman that did a lot of damage this Fall on the D-line. As a freshman, Hickman produced 81 total tackles along with 20 for loss and 4 sacks during his debut high school season. He was also a key piece up front on the Chargers offensive line. Hickman was given a lot of responsibility last Fall as a freshman and he delivered. Expectations will be high moving forward for this West TN lineman but I think Hickman will live up to the hype.

Positional MVP's

QB MVP: [player_tooltip player_id='1178596' first='Seaton' last='Moffett'] - CAK: The Warriors found their signal caller over the next three years in Moffett. Coming off a freshman season where he threw for over 1,000 yards, Moffett brought a steady presence behind center that the coaching staff can build around moving forward.

RB MVP: [player_tooltip player_id='1066002' first='Alie' last='Bangura'] - MTCS: Rushing for a little over 1,000 yards and 8 TD's on the year, Bangura established himself as the Cougars star running back for the present and future with a stellar debut season. The Cougars had a young roster this past Fall but Bangura's presence and play kept them at the top of their region.

WR MVP: [player_tooltip player_id='1670023' first='Ashton' last='Fuller'] - Unaka: Fuller led his freshman class in receiving this year with 525 yards and 6 touchdowns while providing his Rangers offense with a big play threat on the outside. Coming from a small town school, Fuller had a strong debut year that helped get him and his squad on the map.

OL MVP: [player_tooltip player_id='1030665' first='Cheyenne' last='Harris'] - Pearl Cohn: Harris gained significant experience as a starting freshman on the Firebirds O-line this year, turning in an excellent season that showed a possible future on the next level. His game play and size in the middle helped the Pearl Cohn backs succeed this Fall, pushing them to the 4A semifinals.

DL MVP: Keagan Covington - Morristown-West: Covington made a major impact last season where he led the Trojans defense in sacks with five. He was also a key piece stopping the run as he produced 8 and half tackles for loss on the season. Covington will certainly be a name to follow over the next three years.

LB MVP: [player_tooltip player_id='1587383' first='Clyce' last='Tetleton'] - Halls: The Tigers put an outstanding defense on the field for the ‘24 season with Tetleton being a major piece in their efforts. This freshman linebacker produced at a high level with 102 total tackles and two forced fumbles on the year while leading his Halls team to an 8-3 record.

DB MVP: [player_tooltip player_id='1568928' first='Destin' last='Jones'] - Northeast: The Eagles found them a ball hawk to build around on defense with Jones. As a freshman this past season, this Mid-TN product produced 44 total tackles along with 5 interceptions and 3 pass breakups. This is a talented defender that has the ability to play multiple positions within the secondary.
