Prep Redzone Louisiana continues its winter rankings process this week with the latest 2026 update, following last week's 2025 and followed by a 2027 update and first 2028 rankings on the horizon.

Leading up to the complete, 300-player list on Thursday, we will count down the top 50 in more detail.

And make sure to check back following the release for additional features and notes on the 2026 cohort, including looks at debuts and stock-risers.

No. 20 [player_tooltip player_id='1345252' first='Tyrone' last='Morgan'] — 6-4, 230 DL — Woodlawn (Baton Rouge)

One of the top stock-risers in this round of rankings updates, the Panthers' standout cracks the top 20 after an all-district junior campaign in a tough District 4-5A. Morgan is listed another 20 pounds heavier than he was heading into the fall and packs disruptive athleticism from his explosive get-off, quickness to his rush moves and tenacious closing speed. The combination looked on film to make him a menace for opposing interior offensive lineman to try to keep out of the backfield.

No. 19 [player_tooltip player_id='920609' first='O'Ryan' last='Mosley'] — 6-3, 295 OL — Terrebonne

As mentioned with one of Mosley's teammates earlier in the countdown, Terrebonne boasted two 1,000-yard rushers this season. And the big right tackle had plenty to do with that success as he racked up 60 pancakes on his way to an all-state selection and continued recruitment from a slew of Power-Four programs. Mosley is strong and explosive with a violent punch that immediately pops back opposing defenders. He also possesses good overall mobility at his size, which stood out in his pass-blocking performance allowing just two sacks for the season.

No. 18 [player_tooltip player_id='920695' first='Ke'Rynn' last='Smith'] — 5-9, 175 RB — Holy Cross

The Tigers' speedy multisport standout possesses a well-rounded athletic profile and skillset at the position with his vision, quick feet, power and balance through contact, explosive burst and 4.45-second 40-yard dash once he hits an angle to the open field. We've written in the past that Smith looks shot out of a slingshot when he has a running lane to open up that speed, and his work through traffic shouldn't be overlooked either as he keeps his legs moving through attempted arm tackles and shows a good combination of patience and decisiveness as plays develop.

No. 17 [player_tooltip player_id='1602194' first='Tavon' last='Bell'] — 6-3, 255 DL — Franklin Parish

The highest-ranking debut in this round of 2026 updates now gives Franklin Parish three top-40 prospects on the list. Bell is a big-bodied defensive lineman the Patriots utilize as a disruptive force off the edge with his good initial burst, multisport athleticism, active hands and high motor. Bell remains a relatively under-the-radar prospect around the state in many ways, but particularly started to hit some radars with his leaping interception and pick-six to highlight an upset of Calvary Baptist. And he figures to be an increasingly prominent name in the class this offseason as more colleges make Winnsboro, La., a stop this spring and as he hits camps this summer.

No. 16 [player_tooltip player_id='401967' first='Jalan' last='Chapman'] — 6-4, 285 OL — Warren Easton

The versatile offensive lineman appeared to work at right guard the bulk of his junior season where he was a mauler his Eagles could consistently work behind in the running game. The LSU commit has always possessed great overall strength in his base, upper body and hands — with a highlight-reel full of pancake blocks to show for it — and moves well enough to be a huge weapon pulling, getting outside or getting to the second level in the run game and helping spring particularly explosive plays. Chapman also shows good awareness and reaction to continue protecting the quarterback when plays start to break down and get creative.

No. 15 [player_tooltip player_id='920694' first='Julian' last='Burns'] — 6-2, 190 DB — Neville

"JuJu" earned all-state honorable-mention for his role in one of Louisiana's most loaded secondary as a physical enforcer and tone-setter from the back end of the defense with his 81 tackles. Whether crashing downhill in run support, squaring up to tackle an underneath receiver after a catch or arriving to break up a deeper pass, Burns pops off the film with his explosively hard-hitting playing style that gives him a knack for forcing fumbles and jarring incompletions. But he also possesses the ball skills to time and snatch passes his direction as he did on a couple interceptions this fall.

No. 14 [player_tooltip player_id='710968' first='Nathan' last='Green'] — 6-0, 180 ATH — Evangel Christian

Line Green up just about anywhere on the field, and he has the strength, athleticism, instincts and ball skills to make a play. His junior highlight reel checks a slew of positions off the list with cornerback, safety, receiver and running back. Green is both one of the Eagles' biggest-play weapons on an all-around explosive offense and one of their most versatile defenders — including, now listed 2 inches taller and 15 pounds stronger, proving himself an increasingly effective rusher off the edge when the Eagles want to bring him on blitzes.

No. 13 [player_tooltip player_id='401969' first='Jamarcea' last='Plater'] — 5-9, 180 ATH — Captain Shreve

The explosive multisport standout from Shreveport has been a top-20 prospect in Prep Redzone Louisiana's 2026 rankings throughout his high school career and bolstered his case heavily this fall with one of the state's top breakout performances. Plater moved from defensive back to running back and proceeded to break school records and earn all-state honors in his first season on that side of the ball with 2,234 yards and 29 touchdowns rushing, plus another three scores. The high-level track athlete packs notable physicality at his size to battle through contact for extra yards, if not break free entirely, and can be gone to the end zone in the blink of an eye from anywhere on the field when he gets even a little space. His well-rounded skillset makes him an effective defensive back or slot receiver as well, but Plater appears to have found his home at running back.

No. 12 [player_tooltip player_id='710970' first='Hayward' last='Howard Jr.'] — 6-3, 175 DB — Edna Karr

Howard has lived in the top 25 of the 2026 rankings his entire high school career and continues to nudge his way up the list. The long, lean freshman who debuted two years ago has filled out into a solidly built, still-speedy corner who plays accordingly physically. The Cougars' standout now looks just as comfortable and confident crashing down to blow up screens or help in run support as he does blanketing receivers outside with his fluid hips and great instincts and has shown some positional versatility to play all over the secondary.

No. 11 [player_tooltip player_id='920613' first='Jakai' last='Anderson'] — 6-0, 160 WR — McDonogh 35

The electric LSU commitment earned all-state honors for an exceptional junior campaign with 57 catches for 972 yards and 14 touchdowns — averages of 17.1 yards per catch and a touchdown every 4.1 catches — plus 16 carries for another 151 yards and four scores and a combined 518 punt- and kick-return yards with four punt-return touchdowns and three kick-return touchdowns. Anderson is as much a threat to score from anywhere on the field at any given moment as any player in the state and has continued to develop as route-runner to free himself up for more of those big-play opportunities in his natural position.
