NORTH DAKOTA-- With the 2028 rankings released last week for both Dakotas, we have spent a good chunk of our time breaking down the newcomers that were added by position to our 2028 rankings and will continue that trend all this week too. Tonight, it's about answering the question: Who are the top 5 quarterbacks in North Dakota's 2028 class?

QB5: [player_tooltip player_id='1597883' first='Tucker' last='Skogen'], QB, Dickinson Trinity

Tucker checks in as our QB5 in the first ever rankings of our 2028 North Dakota class coming out of Dickinson Trinity. He shows off good mechanics for his age and appears as a quarterback that picks up on coaching cues quickly from his coaching staff. He seems to show off the balanced touchy arm strength in the reps I watched on tape and surely is still a work in progress of where his game can take him for the long road over the coming years. The tape is light thus far, but Tucker also shows off an intriguing back shoulder throw that showed off the good upside I thinkt his young man can have in the coming years. Not on Twitter as of yet, so very under the radar too.

QB4: [player_tooltip player_id='1597886' first='James' last='Fischer'], QB, Heart River

James I believe is one of the highest debuts we have had in the Prep Redzone Dakotas era from the Heart River Cougars. The 6'0 165 pounder shows off the early pocket awareness to use his mobility to get out of a jam and still show off sound precision on intermediate routes even with pressure. On the bulk of the throws I watched James make, you can gauge that he can the finished arm strength to get the ball where it constantly needs to be and still has the upside to grow further with his ball placement with several years left of high school football brewing. James also shows that he is more sudden with his legs getting out of the pocket than I expected to see on tape which is another skillset to watch develop over the coming years. If you find yourself just past Dickinson on I-94 headed west, you might want to watch this kid on an upcoming Friday night this fall. James is one I could see jumping up in this 2028 class.

QB3: [player_tooltip player_id='1598031' first='Easton' last='Monson'], QB, Shiloh Christian Twitter

Easton is a 2028 quarterback out of Shiloh Christian in Bismarck that although light on the tape, the upside shows on every rep I could find from last fall. He shows off the out of pocket athleticism to use his legs outside of to buy more time and consistently does not miss a beat with the arm talent he has no matter inside our outside of the pocket like I mentioned. Easton has quite intriguing arm strength for intermediate routes and I would be curious to see how deep and finished his arm can be on deeper routes once hopefully more tape comes out on this young man. There also seems to be a sort of hidden poise about Easton that we can see in our tape eval, but is still in untap mode as a freshmen that hits the upside button on what we look for to a T.

QB2: [player_tooltip player_id='1452278' first='Jace' last='Becker'], QB, Ray-Powers Lake Twitter

I know we have found thus far during basketball season that [player_tooltip player_id='1452278' first='Jace' last='Becker'] of Ray-Powers Lake has been a walking bucket on the hardwood, but the 2028 quarterback also checks is as our QB2 in this North Dakota 2028 class on the gridirion. The 6'0 160 pounder, is another highest debut on this quarterback list from the Outlaws, as Jace shows off the arm talent he has on all three levels of the field. Jace also shows off a consistent precison with his deep routes and has impressively tight ball fits for his age that only his wide receiver can get to which had the "wow" factor when I first watched his tape. Jace shows off hte best athleticism out of the pocket out of the quarterbacks we have mentioned so far too as Jace shows off the vision of a guard on the gridirion like he does getting to the bucket on the hardwood. A multi-sport athlete that is a grinder in this 2028 class for sure.

QB1: [player_tooltip player_id='1596559' first='Ryder' last='Sutton'], QB, Minot Twitter

There is nothing I love more than getting a tape last second that changes the trajectory of our rankings in a great way, as that was the case when I got the tape on [player_tooltip player_id='1596559' first='Ryder' last='Sutton'] of Minot, who is our first QB1 in our 2028 North Dakota rankings. The 5'10 175 pounder shows off one of the best deep arms I have seen in this 2028 class, and not just in North Dakota either, I would argue in both of the Dakotas. His touch shows off an excellent release and just shows off a pure balance on tape. Ryder also is easily the fastest quarterback in this grouping by a longshot getting out of the pocket, as the speed we know is surely there, but I am also impressed with the instincts that you can clearly see from Ryder. He also shows off great technique on every throw and I would argue again, he probably is one the best 2028 QBs in the Dakotas when it comes to his mechanics too. He surely is one the most gifted underclassmen I have seen out of Minot recently, and I have seen a lot of great talent come out of the Magic City over the last five years.
