Prep Redzone North Carolina recently updated their Class of 2027 Rankings, and several players moved up in the rankings after strong sophomore seasons! This article will focus on selected Wide Receivers in this ranking update.

Coming off a productive season for the state runner-ups, Anthony moves up to #1 in our class at the Wide Receiver position. Anthony had 46 catches for 914 yards and 11 touchdowns, a major piece of the Rams offense week in and week out. Anthony also excels as a talented basketball player, enhancing his already impressive athletic ability. Anthony has picked up offers from Miami, Louisville, NC State, and Maryland just in January alone, reflective of the special talent he has. Anthony was also selected as an All-Conference player for his performance this season.

Kayden shows the ability to be a dynamic kick returner, showing excellent speed and vision with the ball in his hands in the open field. Kayden can also help the team as a defensive back, totaling 27 tackles on the season from a free safety position primarily. As a receiver, Kayden does well when he gets the ball in his hands quickly on screens and short passes and uses that aforementioned open-field ability to get downfield quickly. Kayden was also used for a bit as a running back. It will be interesting to see where his future ultimately ends up.

Rodrick's physical frame projects him to have a breakout year next season. In looking at some film, Rodrick shows the ability to high-point the football in the red zone against man coverage. Some other strengths Rodrick possesses include making possession catches in critical situations to keep the chains moving, as well as playing some defense at the corner and safety spots, and making tackles in the open field.

Antonio made some contributions on both offense and defense this past season for Reagan. As a receiver, Antonio did well when getting the ball in space to show off his impressive speed in the open field. As a defensive back, Antonio made two interceptions on the season and broke up some passes, showing some good traits in man coverage. I am excited to see his continued growth in getting more reps in the upcoming season.
