2027 Rankings Update- New QBs Added to Our List

Our new 2027 Rankings Update is live! To roll out our new class, we want to cover some of our newest additions across the state!   Today, we are going to look at some of our new QBs! These guys put together impressive seasons last fall- be sure to watch their tape below!    [player_tooltip player_id='1610270' first='Kaleb' last='Freeman'] has been incredibly impressive as the leader of Pleasant Grove's offense, making tons of huge throws all around the field all season long last fall. Freeman is so hard for defenses to stop- he's excellent at maneuvering through the pocket, is patient scanning the field, and consistently uses his arm talent to throw accurate passes at every level of the field. Johnson throws at a high velocity and can fit the ball into some tight windows- making impressive hole shot throws over the top and across the middle of the field frequently on tape. What really stands out with Freeman's tape is his quick and dependable processing - he sees the field well and makes quick and correct reads every time he drops back to pass. Freeman put together a terrific season for Pleasant Grove last fall- he ended his sophomore year with 136/200 completed passing attempts for 2589 yards and 33 touchdowns to only 4 interceptions in the air, with another 64 yards and a touchdown on the ground.      [player_tooltip player_id='1610264' first='Landyn' last='Smith'] is a really talented passer out of St Clair County who has helped transform his team's passing attack into one of the best in the state. Smith, a left-handed QB, can absolutely shred opposing secondaries. Smith has a live arm capable of making big-time throws- he has excellent touch and accuracy when throwing deep, and frequently completes difficult throws along the sideline, across the middle, and downfield to his receivers. Smith does an excellent job placing the ball only where his targets can make a play on it- he's really efficient at this and you can see it when he's throwing goal-line fades or over the top, constantly helping his WRs come away with huge game-changing plays. Smith can also make some huge plays under pressure, he's great at avoiding defenders in the pocket and can make some sweet throws on the run. Smith was unstoppable last fall and ended the year completing 159/269 passing attempts for 2683 yards and 39 touchdowns to only two interceptions, with an additional 12 carries for 65 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. Smith had an unbelievable sophomore season and put together some great tape- be sure to give him a watch below!      Jermarkius Smith put together a terrific season last fall for Reeltown's passing attack, helping lead his team to a huge season where they won the 2A state title. Smith is an extremely efficient passer who will find ways to move the chains every snap. Smith has some serious arm talent, is decisive, and dissects opposing secondaries extremely well- frequently coming away with massive gains downfield and never putting the ball in harm's way. Smith is also pretty mobile and can extend plays/make plays with his feet when necessary, which is a huge advantage for him when facing pressure. It's really impressive watching Smith lead his offense- he sees the field really well, takes what the defense gives him, and led a ton of successful drives for Reeltown's offense. Smith was one of the state's leading passers last season, completing 94/166 passing attempts for 2191 yards and 34 touchdowns to only 4 interceptions, with 44 carries for 260 yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground. Be sure to watch Smith's tape below- he's a really talented QB!     [player_tooltip player_id='1584638' first='Gage' last='Davis'] had a breakout season for Florala's offense last fall, he took a big step as a passer and made tons of key plays all season long. At 5'10 160, Davis is slightly undersized, but more than makes up for it with his dynamic abilities as a passer. Davis plays with a ton of confidence, has great arm talent, and is willing to do whatever it takes to move the chains. Davis can stretch the field and accurately hit his WRs in stride no matter where they're located, he's highly accurate and is effective at every level of the field. It's really impressive watching Davis under pressure- he can avoid defenders in the pocket, extend plays, and make some impressive throws on the run and while taking big hits. Davis put together a really productive sophomore season- completing 153 of 229 passing attempts for 2406 yards and 27 touchdowns to only 14 interceptions. Davis has some serious arm talent- be sure to check out his tape from last season, he deserves more eyes!      [player_tooltip player_id='1455350' first='Charlie' last='Taafe'] is a talented dual threat out of Vestavia Hills who made a ton of huge plays for his offense last fall. Taafe is a really fun QB to watch- he makes quick decisions, has a great arm, is extremely mobile, and can do so much with the ball in his hands. As a passer, Taafe accurately delivers the ball anywhere on the field- he does a great job reading defenses and consistently can find and accurately hit his WRs. Outside of his passing, Taafe is explosive and keeps defenses on their heels with his legs. Taafe is really quick on his feet, plays with great speed, and can make defenders miss when he's on the run- consistently coming up with huge gains/scoring plays on the ground. Taafe was really productive for Vestavia's offense last season, completing 98/151 passing attempts for 1361 yards and 9 touchdowns, with an additional 103 carries for 631 yards and 13 touchdowns on the ground.
