This is the second straight year that we've awarded a Player Of The Year for 8-man football specifically. And for the second straight year, it goes to a do-it-all quarterback in Class B. Class B-2 to be specific. Weleetka junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='670657' first='Isaiah' last='Drake'] is this year's winner after helping lead Weleetka to a perfect season and a state championship. The Outlaws would go 13-0 and knock off defending champion Seiling in the state championship game with a 54-12 victory.

Drake came into this season as a quarterback we were going to keep an eye on after he performed very well at our Prep Redzone camp back in the spring. He certainly lived up to the hype and was absolutely dominant from the quarterback position. Drake would throw for over 3,300 yards and 47 touchdowns with just six interceptions on the season while completing nearly 70 percent of his passes. Drake would also run for more than 1,100 yards and 15 touchdowns to account for 62 offensive touchdowns and nearly 4,500 yards of total offense on the year. Drake would also tally up 85 tackles on the defensive side of the ball.

Weleetka came into the 2024 season as one of the teams to beat with all the experienced talent they had returning and they certainly lived up to the hype. In addition to an undefeated season, the Outlaws were rarely challenged. Their closest game came in week two against Dewar and they would prevail 36-20. Dewar would go on to capture the Class B-1 state championship. You can make the argument that the Outlaws were the kings of Class B, regardless of division after winning Class B-2 and having a win over the eventual Class B-1 state champions.

Weleetka would keep their dominant play going in the playoffs and won each game by at least 20 points. And Drake would take his game up a notch in the postseason. In the playoffs alone, Drake would throw for well over 1,000 yards and 14 touchdowns with just one interception. Drake also ran for over 450 yards and five touchdowns in the playoffs alone. Needless to say, Drake was absolutely dominant throughout the 2024 season and helped guide the Outlaws to a memorable state championship. And just a junior, Drake will be back in 2025, ready to defend that crown.
