Moments after their 21-14 Rural State Championship win against two-time defending state champion Hawthorne, veteran head coach Price Harris and his coaching staff quickly looked ahead to 2025.

While the Madison County Cowboys and their fans took in this impressive performance and continued to celebrate in the weeks to come, Harris understands that to get back to this point in 2025, the work has to begin now, planning for a busy off-season and replacing some of those key seniors who had been instrumental in elevating this program where it has been for decades.

TALENT RETURNS IN THE 2026 CLASS

Like this year when the 2025 group of seniors stepped up, the Cowboys will lean on a gifted cast of returnees in this rising senior (2026) class.

Among those who will be counted on include [player_tooltip player_id='1581793' first='De'Andre' last='Arnold'] (LB, 6-1, 195), Travis Arnold (WB/FS, 6-0, 175), versatile leader [player_tooltip player_id='1581798' first='L.J.' last='Crumity'] (QB/DB/Athlete, 6-1, 160), [player_tooltip player_id='1581794' first='Na'Quez' last='Christian'] (RB/SS, 5-11, 160), Laddis Fead (OL, 6-3, 210 – 3.0 GPA), Ezekiel Ghent (DE/LB, 5-8, 180), and two-way standout Ryshard Miller (RB/CB, 5-11, 195).

In addition, look for dominating [player_tooltip player_id='1581803' first='Zakari' last='Neal'] (OL, 6-3, 280 – 3.0 GPA), [player_tooltip player_id='1581811' first='Johnny' last='Norwood'] (OL, 5-11, 255), Vincent Sanders (Sniffer/LB, 5-9, 185), Tyrik Tillman (TE, 5-11, 205 – 3.8 GPA), and Zay West (WR/CB, 6-1, 170 – 4.0 GPA).

UNDERCLASSMEN ARE READY

As is the case every year with this program, the underclassmen are always ready to make a statement for colleges coaches to take a look – and with a group of rising juniors (2027), things will definitely be interesting.

Among those prospects that will continue to play championship football are Jordan Capi (DL, 5-9, 205), K.J. Johnson (DT, 5-10, 260) and Chad Mitchell (QB, 5-9, 175). There are also rising sophomores (2028) that figure to step up and make a difference like Davyon Gallon (LB, 5-9, 165) and Ke'Monte Lee (WR, 5-11, 150).
