Disappointing Finish Fuels Jacksonville Bishop Kenny In 2026

When Jacksonville Bishop Kenny faced off with Jacksonville Raines in the third round of the state playoffs last season, they knew their work was cut out for them.

But even though they were on the road as big underdogs, the Crusaders and head coach Tim Krause came in with an eight-game winning streak and a district title in hand – plus wins over [player_tooltip player_id='1895147' first='Crawfordville' last='Wakulla'] and Tallahassee Godby in the opening round of the playoffs.

While they understood their assignment, they proved to be no match for the eventual state champions and headed home with a 61-15 setback. That loss did not sit well.

What that game did was set the wheels in motion, and while a 10-3 record would be good enough for some, it only fueled this program and the work was put in during spring and into the summer as they get ready for one of their most challenging schedules in recent memory.

To take things one step further this season, the senior (2027) class will be needed to step up.

Here are some of those prospects to keep an eye on:

Will Alesch, RB/LB, 6'0, 195.

TAPE: https://www.hudl.com/profile/19877498/Will-Alesch

Jonah Hodges, LB/FB, 6'0, 215 – 4.2 GPA.

TAPE: https://www.hudl.com/profile/19712597/Jonah-Hodges

Riley Jones, OL, 6'1, 280.

TAPE: https://www.hudl.com/profile/19877491/Riley-Jones

Bryce Lapenes, QB/FS, 6'0, 170.

TAPE: https://www.hudl.com/profile/19877516/Bryce-Lapenes

Christopher Leneave, K/P, 5'10, 158 – 3.6 GPA.

TAPE: https://www.hudl.com/profile/19902944/Christopher-Leneave

J.C.
