With much of the event's groundwork already laid, it is time to discuss who-I-saw-do-what while at Sunday's Stock Up Showcase. Below are personal scouting notes from the action I witnessed.

Scout's Notes: Running Backs

There was something subtle-yet-outstanding with a rep that I happen to catch [player_tooltip player_id='1575808' first='Matthew' last='Mitchell'] take. I vividly remember waiting a second before I recorded what I saw to allow myself time to process. As he was pressing the linebacker vertically, I realized that Mitchell was actually reading the linebacker's leverage and running his route based off of the defender's reaction. In other words, a very astute Mitchell read and took what the defense gave him.... For whatever reason, there is something about [player_tooltip player_id='1340999' first='Javon' last='Barnwell'] that indicated to me that this kid might be a very good runner. Perhaps a pass-happy camp is not the best context for Barnwell to showcase his skills, as I believe it probably does not accentuate his strengths; however, something about the way he looked and moved has me wanting to get a look at him tote the rock.

[player_tooltip player_id='1355474' first='Jacob' last='Rambalski'] showed very good ball skills throughout the reps he took. On more than one occasion I saw him high point the ball - something he excelled at. Additionally, Rambalski did a really nice job using his hands, exclusively, to make every grab I saw him reel in.... Speaking of making hands-only catches, this was something [player_tooltip player_id='205508' first='Luke' last='Gialanella'] happened to show - and plenty more too. Gialanella was one of the most agile backs in attendance to the naked eye. He moved, and subsequently ran, smooth like silk. His ability to make quick cuts afforded him to win atop the stem of his routes too. One rep I saw Gialanella take he hit an awesome zig route that left his matchup grasping for turf pellets to avoid falling down. Last of note, there were two noteworthy catches I saw Gialanella make. The first was on a route where he was crossing over the middle. Typically an easy pitch-and-catch, Gialanella had to make a spinning catch on a poorly thrown ball that was behind him - only to make it look easy. The other catch was on the opposite end of the same spectrum, where it was thrown too far ahead of him. Gialanella made a full-extension grab look like clockwork.
