With much of the event's groundwork already laid, it is time to discuss who-I-saw-do-what while at Sunday's Stock Up Showcase. Below are personal scouting notes from the action I witnessed.

Scout's Notes: Quarterbacks

Although he was a bit on the shorter side, I could tell that the way [player_tooltip player_id='939897' first='Steven' last='Thomas Jr.'] runs an offense is unabashed and unafraid. At moments Thomas was able to get some serious zip on the ball. There was just something about the way he dropped back and let it rip that looked fun, almost throwback gunslinger-esque to it.... [player_tooltip player_id='501876' first='David' last='Oravetz'] was a prospect I had previewed heading into the event and was glad that I got a look at him live. Oravetz showcased a nice, easy overhead release that afforded a simple pitch-and-catch that was as easy as apple pie. I understand the circumstances o being in a camp setting and how that negatively impacts rapport and timing with receivers, however I thought Oravetz held the ball a bit too long on one particular snap. I realize he does not know his target by anything but his bib number, but getting rid of the ball with urgency is something that coaches look for, and trust your "teammate's" athleticism and play making abilities.... If there was any one quarterback that looked cool and relaxed as he took his snaps, it was [player_tooltip player_id='1575722' first='Deion' last='Nelson']. Nelson showed poise and patience with the ball, as if things came easy to him. That said, he sort of profiles as a rhythm thrower to me. I am curious to see what Nelson can do when he boots, reverse boots, or rolls out.

The coaches in attendance identified [player_tooltip player_id='1514620' first='Jason' last='Lajara'] as the clear-cut, best quarterback in attendance. Although I did not watch every single rep he took like the quarterback coach might have, this opinion validates the bit I saw of Lajara throughout the event. Lajara seemed to be able to place the ball in good spots on his target and away from contesting defenders. I also noted that he has a nice, easy-does-it type of throw you enjoy watching and receiving. Lastly, Lajara can get some juice on the ball. One ball he throw I had to duck my head for safety as I heard it whizzing past me.... When it comes to throwing the deep bomb, [player_tooltip player_id='606194' first='Jackson' last='Gering'] might have thrown the best one. When going vertical Gering got excellent vertical distance on the ball, all of which achieved great apexes. They were almost like tear drops that were easy for his receivers to track and come down with. Later on I noticed him connect on some nice back-shoulder completions.... Peter Cosntantuni had a nice flick of the wrist where he got a lot on the ball. With his strong arm, I noticed his full confidence in it as he worked tight windows with a strong degree of success. Additionally, Cosntantuni certainly gets a whole lot on his throws.
