PRZPA State Title Preview, 2A, Troy Trojans Breakdown

6'3, 250 pounds. A senior prospect who slipped through the cracks during our rankings process. 3.8 GPA, holds offers out of Bloomsburg, Shippensburg, and Edinboro. Teribury doubled down on his Edinboro offer in the summer by taking a visit to the school up North.   Nine sacks on the way to an undefeated 15-0 record. 70+ tackles at the DE spot, a good number for a non-backer. Shedding moves stand out immediately on tape, Teribury approaches each rep with a game plan on how to shed, counter, and pursue the football. You can count on Teribury to revv his motor each rep too, a difference maker when evaluating him beside DE/EDGE kids who received similar grades. Offensive reps at in-line tight end, a proficient down-blocker when aligned play-side. Carries a suitable build to stack up well against matchups when aligned here, as well as when aligned as a 3-4 DE. Teribury's calling card are his shed and pursue skills, yet he wins so often at the LOS due to making it difficult to get into his chest. If Teribury can separate and create distance between he and his opponents chest plate, he has that much room to hand-fight and shed.   Teribury will have a few talented Central Clarion linemen on his way to Jace Ferguson. His motor and effort will likely land him in the backfield for a sack at least one time this Friday. A Troy junior who carried the rock just 60 times this year for a whopping 800 yards rushing. This not counting this play through the post-season. The back can provide some quality reps at backer too, this being on of Troy's better two-way contributors.   50 tackles to his name, 12 sacks from his backer spot, a huge number. A blitzer often sent to attack QBs off the edge, Gilliland does a great job getting off the LOS with full momentum. Gilliland screams out of his stance and closes the gap to the quarterback in a flash, bit of a violent finisher too. Gilliland can be counted on to blow up TEs and backs who might be in the backfield to help block, he does it on several occasions on tape. Gilliland will likely tote the rock a few times in this one, you can find him following pulling guards and FB/H-backs on his way to gaining large chunk plays. No X account, not too much information on his Hudl either in terms of multi-sport, GPA, or measurable information. Smith shows off intensive DB play right off the bat, proving he can dissect passing concepts on the fly. Smith can provide pass-coverage as a boundary or slot corner in 2A football, Smith can also scream downhill to provide some support against the run.   Smith is yet another option Troy can hand the ball off to. Kutt and Gilliland will likely provide rushing attempts, as will Smith, who gets the handoff on a good amount of counter/mis-direction sets. A versatile offensive weapon who can score via WR/RB/PR/DB alignments. A ton of touchdowns under his belt, Central Clarion is going to have a lot to defend, especially when you add Smith to the mix.     A big-play wideout who averaged 30 yards a catch throughout the undefeated regular season. 6'1, 185 pounds. 3.8 GPA, accounted for 800 yards of offense through the air. The main target if Troy wants to throw the football.   Regular season tape starts off with Chimics catching a screen 30-yards out, eventually making the entire defense whiff on tackle attempts on his way to housing said screen for a score. You immediately get the idea that Chimics is a RAC-capable wideout. Yes he's 6'1, nearly 190 pounds, yet he floats with the ball in his hands. You can witness more of Chimics play-making ability if you leave the tape running, as the senior wideout would go on to take two different punt returns back for touchdowns. This is the spark the offense can play off of. Chimics is an easy downfield strider too. If Troy can come up with a clean pocket, you can expect a few deep shots Chimics way, surprised to find out the young man is unoffered. A tough wideout who can provide a blend of play-making and toughness, tack on his abilities as a return man and blocker. How Central Clarion decides to bottle up Chimics could decide this football game. Unassuming in size, yet from what I can tell via single-game cut-ups, this kid's presence is felt on both sides of the football.   A pick-six when aligned at corner, some big runs when aligned at QB/RB. Spencer Martin doesn't have a full-season/mid-season tape out on Hudl quite yet, so it's a bit tough for me to gauge exactly what his role is and/or can be. Based on some clips, however, it looks like Martin is someone Central Clarion should key-in on.     5'10, 200 pounds. 4.0 GPA as a sophomore. A multi-sport kid with ties to basketball and T&F. Has just three single-games up on Hudl, totaling to less than two-minutes worth of tape dating back over a months time. X account is also protected, so unsure of his role on the team, unsure what to expect this coming Friday too.   This will be a name I look out for, especially with a 2027 rankings update looming.     The orchestrator of Troy's offense, a quality starter in Troy's secondary. A quarterback who is accustomed to slight of hand tricks, especially in an offense that likes to run mis-direction sets, counters, and work mesh option sets. There's a lot to think about post-snap, Troy entrusts the offenses efficiency to Evan Woodward. Not the most talented of passers, yet his value comes as the complete dual-threat weapon that he is. Woodward can get the snap and dish out screens and out routes to Chimics and others. Woodward can succeed in impromptu situations too, not everything has to be clean and pretty. Look for Woodward to mesh with his FB, tuck and work option sets with his back of choice. Where Woodward comes to light is when he decides to keep for himself in these situations. A solid athlete, one who Troy counts on to make the first defender miss. Woodward and Chimics click well, the Central Clarion defense cannot get caught napping because the two can connect on nines and posts downfield if the opportunity presents itself.   Woodward's tape is lengthy, showing off his prowess at quarterback, as well as his skills as a DB who is tough enough to creep down into the front-seven. Troy will ask Woodward to be the last line of defense against the run, they can count on Woodward to close off gaps if Central Clarion squeaks through the backer core.
