is a big (6’1″) and physical running back for Troy. He is the type of athlete who can be used in multiple areas as a playmaker. His ability to make defenders miss in space is special. He also has a physical running style that allows him to blow over defenders trying to tackle him. The other area of strength is his speed. When he gets into the open field, he is off to the races. Gilliland is an impressive player in the 2026 class.

is just bigger, faster, and stronger than most players. As a running back, he is a physical running back who is hard to tackle when he has a head of steam and is running downhill. He is excellent at toss sweeps, where he can use his vision, speed, and downhill running to run for big plays. He also shows the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield at a high level. Then, as an edge defender, he is tremendous. He does a good job of exploding off the edge and chasing plays against the offense. Several times in his film, he had sacks and tackles for loss. Gilliland is an excellent player on both sides of the ball.
