Prep Redzone Carolinas Showcase Preview: SC Offense

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The time is finally here. Our Prep Redzone Carolinas Showcase is Sunday and we're excited to see the talent that rolls through. If you're interested in competing, we're no longer accepting advanced registration, but will have walk-up slots available.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The premise here is simple. We're expecting plenty of talent on Sunday, and we want to highlight some of the guys we're intrigued to see. While I scout the state of North Carolina, I have some knowledge of the South Carolina high school scene as well, and I've been in touch with my colleagues there to get some thoughts on some Palmetto State prospects.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Prep Redzone Carolinas Showcase Preview: Intriguing Offensive Players </h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Our showcases allow us to see players live that we've only seen on film. They also give us a chance to watch players side-by-side. If a player we don't know well holds his own or even outperforms another player we have highly ranked, it's an easy decision to move the first guy up the rankings.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There are other guys we like on film but who don't have verified times. If I like a player on film and he tests close to the thresholds college coaches look for, it's easy to move them. Here are some offensive player's I'm intrigued by.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":3} --> <h3 class="wp-block-heading">Offensive Players to Watch</h3> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>2026 quarterback <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='284135' first='Kamren' last='Long']</strong> of Carolina Forest was a backup this season, but I've heard he has great arm talent and I'm excited to see him throw on Sunday. He's reportedly extremely accurate and I think that could show up in drills.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>His Carolina Forest teammate, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1148537' first='Jaryn' last='Fox']</strong>, had a wildly productive 2024 season, running for nearly 1,800 yards as a junior. On film, his speed and vision really pop and I would love to get numbers to back that up.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Like Long, running back <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='402485' first='Cameron' last='James']</strong> from South Florence was low on the depth chart this season but flashed when a few of the guys ahead were banged up. He's the presumed starter on one of the state's best teams next season, and that's enough to pique my interest.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There are a few intriguing pass catchers that I'll have my eye on Sunday: 2027 Ridge View receiver <strong>Kristian Jackson</strong> and 2026 Clover tight end <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='402485' first='Cameron' last='James']</strong>. I've been told both could be high Division 1 prospects and I'm excited to see them in action.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>While I don't know a ton about the offensive linemen, I've heard great things about Ashley Ridge's <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1110005' first='Cody' last='Peterson'].</strong> He has elite size, but has dealt with some injuries. I'm looking to see his footwork and lateral movement.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Finally, two impressive athletes could thrive in a camp setting. Newberry's <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1267311' first='Julian' last='Senn']</strong> has played several positions and could put up some impressive testing numbers while <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1321038' first='Justyn' last='Joint'] </strong>has impressive film, but no one from Prep Redzone has been able to get eyes on him yet this season. From what I'm told, he can both run and jump out of the building.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>There's one more guy who intrigues me. 2028 athlete <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1521092' first='Camren' last='Martin']</strong> didn't play on varsity this season but flashed as both a defensive back and running back. Based on his highlights, I prefer Martin as a running back, where he shows good vision and burst. It really depends on how his body develops though.
