The Prep Redzone Stock Up Showcase held in New Jersey this past weekend provided a unique platform for athletes from New Jersey, New York, and neighboring states to refine their skills through learning, testing, and competition. The camp, attended by scouts and analysts such as Brendan Makarious (Prep Redzone New Jersey), Caleb Holfoth (Prep Redzone New York), [player_tooltip player_id='1685945' first='Vic' last='Castillo'] (Northeast Regional Recruiting Analyst), and me (Prep Redzone Maryland/Virginia), featured testing, positional drills and 1-on-1 sessions for the running backs and linebackers.

After reviewing my notes and recordings from the event, I jotted down some notes about what I saw during the OL vs DL 1v1 matchups. Towards the end, I've posted some of the testing results (by ranking).

This analysis does not constitute a top performer list; unidentified athletes are marked as N/A. This is based on the 1v1s I could watch during the event.

The one-on-one matchups between running backs (RBs) and linebackers (LBs), particularly the passing ones, were competitive. Among the RBs, [player_tooltip player_id='205508' first='Luke' last='Gialanella'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1340999' first='Javon' last='Barnwell'] were the most explosive, consistently demonstrating good route-running and separation abilities. They were able to create space quickly and capitalize on mismatches.

I was able to watch a couple of dozen matchups. RB [player_tooltip player_id='1105249' first='Dominic' last='Prestano'] excelled in beating coverage on routes like the wheel and fake-out-to-slant, but overthrown passes prevented completions. RB ISSAC MUNIZ displayed sharp separation skills, particularly against LB No. 111, although the defense recovered late to disrupt the play. R JACOB RAMBALSKI had an easier time against LB No. 48, who allowed a free release, enabling a smooth out-route completion.

RB NICHOLAS NAZARE and LB TIMOTHY TAN engaged in a tight battle, with the RB making an impressive catch despite close coverage. RB SEBASTIAN ASSUNCAO faced LB GAVIN WILCZEWSKI on a go route, where the pass was overthrown, but the defender's failure to disrupt the release was notable. AARON GONZALEZ's sharp corner route against LB No. 64 left defenders flat-footed.

On the defensive side, a few LBs showed promise. KAMAURI GUINYARD displayed excellent tight coverage against MATTHEW MITCHELL, successfully disrupting the pass. Similarly, TYLEhttps://prepredzone.com/player/tyler-zysk-2/R ZYSK impressed with a broken-up pass against NICHOLAS NAZARE by recognizing the route early.

RBs like C.J. GRIFFITH and JACOB RAMBALSKI showed potential but need to refine their explosiveness and cutting sharpness to maximize their effectiveness. Linebackers KAMAURI GUINYARD and [player_tooltip player_id='1571996' first='Tyler' last='Zysk'] displayed tight coverage and route recognition.

TOP 5 FASTEST 40 TIMES - RBs/LBs (Based on hand-timed 40 times)

No. 3 [player_tooltip player_id='1570210' first='Dylan' last='Burbridge'] (LB)

No. 4 [player_tooltip player_id='1296447' first='Johnny' last='Klebaur'] (LB)

TOP 5 SHUTTLE TIMES –RBs/LBs (Based on hand-timed 40 times)

No. 1 [player_tooltip player_id='1340999' first='Javon' last='Barnwell']

No. 2 [player_tooltip player_id='1570210' first='Dylan' last='Burbridge']

No. 3 Ethan Zakarski

No. 3 Giovanni Marshall Edwards

No. 5 [player_tooltip player_id='1571996' first='Tyler' last='Zysk']

FINAL EXTRA THOUGHTS

I could only catch one of RB Ethan Zakarski's reps during 1v1's. On the one rep I saw, Zakarski beat the linebacker on a corner-route. He did a good job of adjusting to an underthrown pass and made the catch. The testing results for RB [player_tooltip player_id='1340999' first='Javon' last='Barnwell'] confirmed what I saw during 1v1s; he has some speed and quickness in his game. Total mismatch for the most part, for the linebackers. I thought RB [player_tooltip player_id='205508' first='Luke' last='Gialanella'] looked like one of the quickest players.
