. As Wayne Hills has to compete with Wayne Valley, Passiac County Tech, and the non-public programs in north jersey for talent, Zacharski is a young, promising back that might just swing the tide back in Wayne Hills favor. On film we see that he runs with a forward lean that allows him to fall forward, make more evasive, break tackles, and protect the ball – speaking of which, Zacharski is conscientious to switch the ball to his outside arm when he gets to the perimeter. On tape we see that he is creative when trying to make people miss, featuring cuts that are both sudden and sharp. These cuts are especially accented when he is moving laterally. Few bits of feedback that I have are for him to follow his track and do not bounce the ball so early. This may work at the freshman level, but it will not on varsity. His film would benefit from trimming it down from 8 minutes as well.

Ethan is the third stand out performer from the NYNJ Next Combine earlier in the year. Getting a ton of repetitions and positional drills in as a running back, Ethan showed pretty early in the event that he is a name to get familiar with. He had one of the faster 40 times in the group (4.59) and showed quick, explosive change of direction capabilities in the 5-10-5 as well. In live action, Ethan was able to show off his lateral quickness as he exposed linebackers in the open field. Ethan has that lateral explosiveness that you hope to have in your backfield. There’s the potential for Ethan to line up as a slot receiver or be a major receiving threat out of the backfield as well, as he does a great job at finding open space to get open and can turn upfield with authority. While he doesn’t have the size as some of the others on this list quite yet, Ethan’s got 4 years to grow, put on some muscle, and continue to fine tune his skills.

– Listed as an Athlete in our database because of his ability to play other positions, Ethan Zacharski was another prospect that looked great as both a Running Back and a Wide Receiver.
– Speed and quickness is what separated Zacharski from the others, as he clocked a 4.66 and 4.59 (hand time) in the forty at the New Jersey PRZ Next Middle School Showcase.
– During the 2023 season Zacharski was one of the key members of a Wayne Boys&Girls Club team, that won an ACYFL Super Bowl title by going 11-0 and capped it off with an emphatic 32-0 victory over Union City in the title tilt.
– In a part of the state (North Jersey) that sees the majority of its top middle school talent kids go the private school route, it’s outstanding to see Zacharski will stay in public school, electing to attend Wayne Hills. Here’s to hoping he follows in the footsteps of a former WH Patriot, 2-time All-Pro Tight End, Greg Olsen.
