Seniors get most accolades across the board in high school sports. In this article, I will highlight the underclassmen that had impacts on their teams in Class C. Some were electric in every aspect of the game and others flew under the radar but will be players to watch next season.

Waring made a splash in his varsity rookie year, leading Class C in passing yards and 2nd in all of Section VI with 2,603. He is incredibly efficient as he had a remarkable 5 to 1 TD to INT ratio. Brady has good football intuition in an RPO offense and can beat teams with his legs as well as his arm. He spread the ball around very well with 3 players recording 30+ catches.

A two-year varsity starter, Gibbs made a name for himself as a sophomore and improved immensely with over 2,000 yards and 28 TDs - nearly doubling his output from a year ago. Brayden has quick feet with excellent awareness. His strong arm and fantastic accuracy will make him a highly touted senior.

Moss exploded on the scene after a remarkable sophomore season and topped that in his junior year finishing top 5 in all of section VI with over 1,800 yards rushing and 26 scores. He was a 3 time Connolly Cup player of the week because of the dominance he showed. His excellent size and toughness will make him a top senior recruit and he may amass 2,000 yards next year.

An unknown player entering 2024, Nellis was a major breakout athlete for Eden as he emerged as the Raiders top target with 60 catches and over 900 yards and 11 TDs. He has excellent concentration at the outside receiver spot and the ability to break tackles with his run after catch.

Gibbs played a key role on the Chautauqua Lake defense as a safety, racking up 70 tackles in his freshmen season. There is no film available on Tristen yet but it is noteworthy that he is expected to be a Class of '28 QB prospect when he takes over play calling duties in 2026.
