Good athletic ability displaying very good acceleration and balance, good foot speed, foot quickness, lateral agility, change of direction, explosiveness, hand quickness, flexibility, and hip fluidity. Plays Safety and Wide Receiver and I believe he can play either position at the next level and will also provide Return ability on special teams. At WR, he shows good release off the line of scrimmage, keeping good bend in his knees, and uses his very good acceleration and foot quickness to get off the ball and into his route. Shows the ability to manipulate defenders with his lateral agility at the LOS to get into his route stem. Displays good change of direction at the top of his route, able to step in and go in a single fluid motion with good explosiveness out of his cuts in any direction creating good separation quickness to provide an open target for the QB. Can run the full route tree. Good adjustment and hands to secure the catch, with good run-after-catch ability. Utilizes his very good acceleration along with his good foot speed, lateral movement, and change of direction to make defenders miss and run past them in the open field. On the season, he finished with 17 receptions, for 320 yards, averaging 18.82 yards per reception with two TDs proving to be a big play threat available to the strong running scheme that William Fleming runs as he shared the field with a P4 RB Malachi Coleman.

On defense, he shows good range at his safety position and shows good processing to read the offense and put himself in a position to make a play. He excels in deep zone where he can read the route scheme and make a break on the ball, showing good ball skills to deflect the ball and displays good hands to make an interception. He is good in run support and plays with very good physical toughness, not shying away from contact and showing to be a dependable tackler in the open field. He ended the season with 55 total tackles, 21 solo, 7 pass breakups, 5 interceptions, and 2 defensive TDs.

Overall, Omarza is a football player that you can use in all three phases of the game. In my opinion, Omarza can step into a DII program and contribute early, but he very well could be on a D1 field in an early rotational role which is in line with our borderline D1 ranking we have for Omarza.

Hudl / X

Marginal height and size with a good frame on his body. Very good athletic ability with very good acceleration, explosiveness, lateral agility, change of direction, foot speed, foot quickness, balance, flexibility, hip fluidity, and hand quickness. An athlete who can play any Defensive Back position and Wide Receiver. On defense, he can align as a safety, cornerback, or nickelback. He displays very good range as a safety due to his good mental processing and very good athleticism that allows him to read the play and make a break on the ball. He has good line of scrimmage skills as a corner and nickel and can play in press with his quick hands and use his very good hip fluidity and acceleration to turn and run with receivers keeping tight coverage in man. He plays with very good physical toughness as he takes on blocks with very good ability to shed blocks and make a tackle in the open field, in addition to coming up to the line of scrimmage in run defense. On the year, he finished with 4 INTs, 1 defensive TD, and 15 tackles.

As a WR, he displays good release off the ball, accelerating quickly into his route stem. He operates best in quick routes where he can get the ball quickly with his good hands and utilize his very good run-after-catch ability. His very good acceleration, speed, and lateral movement allow him to create positive yards and outrun most DBs he faces. He finished the season with 10 receptions, 196 yards, averaging 19.6 yards per reception with 4 TDs while sharing an offense with Virginia Tech RB commit Jeffrey Overton Jr.

Overall, a good prospect who has D1 athleticism and skillset at DB and WR that will allow him to be a dependable player with his marginal size. I like him best as a DB with the versatility he presents as a player, and he can become a contributor by year two or three.

Hudl / X

Good height with solid size and frame. Good athletic ability showing very good acceleration, foot speed, balance, and explosiveness, with good foot quickness, lateral agility, change of direction, flexibility, hip fluidity, and hand quickness. Plays Safety and Wide Receiver. On defense, he shows very good range from his safety position, with very good mental processing to diagnose route concepts and make a break on the ball. Very good ball skills with very good hands to make the interception, and plays through the WR's hands to at least break up the pass when he is in position to make a play. Good tackler and run defender from his safety position that you can trust to make an open-field tackle. Tackles through the ball carrier with good form.

On offense, he shows good release off the ball into his route, utilizing his acceleration, foot quickness, and lateral agility to get into his stem. Good route runner with an understanding of how to manipulate his route stem to set up defenders at the top of his route to create good separation quickness. Very good after the catch using his good athleticism to force missed tackles with elusive jukes and weaving through defenders with his speed.

Overall, a good prospect who has D1 capability to play on either side of the ball and should find himself contributing by year two.

Hudl / X

Adequate height and size, with a frame to add mass. Solid athleticism with good balance, acceleration, foot speed, foot quickness, change of direction, hip fluidity, flexibility, solid lateral agility, hand quickness, and explosiveness. Plays cornerback and wide receiver. I like him best as a cornerback at the next level. As a corner, he shows good LOS skills in press, using his good foot quickness and solid hand quickness in Press coverage to get his hands on the WR at the LOS. Good in Off-coverage, showing good backpedal to match the WR in the stem of the route. His good hip fluidity allows him to turn and match the WR in man coverage, with good foot speed to keep tight coverage. Shows good Zone processing, can process the passing scheme, and uses his good change of direction to make a break on the WR. Solid ball skills, able to disrupt the pass and play through the hands of the WR. He is a good tackler that you can depend on in the open field.

As a WR, he shows solid release off the line of scrimmage, with solid route running and separation quickness, best utilized in short routes where he gets the ball quickly. He has good hands that will snatch the ball with good adjust with his body to secure a catch that is not in stride. He accelerates quickly after the catch and looks to lower his shoulder to barrel through defenders rather than making a finesse move. Shows solid strength and good toughness as a ball carrier and will fall forward.

Overall, a solid prospect whose floor is an early contributor at a Division II program in my opinion, and very well could develop into an D1 starter after a couple of years of development.

Hudl / X

Solid height and size. Good athletic ability with very good foot quickness, good lateral agility, change of direction, flexibility, hand quickness, acceleration, balance, and solid foot speed. Plays Defensive Back and Running Back. On defense, I project him to be a Corner but he does have Safety flexibility. He has quick hands at the line scrimmage that will force WRs off their path. His hip fluidity allows him to quickly turn and run with the receiver to keep good man coverage. His very good foot quickness, change of direction, lateral agility, and balance allow him to keep tight coverage on change of direction routes and be in a position to make a play on the ball with his solid ball skills. Plays with good physical toughness, not shying away from contact, and will fight through blocks in run support. He is a dependable open-field tackler who can bring down WRs and RBs that are bigger than him. He finished the season with 54 tackles, 26 solo, 10 pass breakups, and 2 forced fumbles.

On offense, he shows good burst as a running back that gets him to the second level quickly with his good acceleration and explosiveness. Shows good contact balance as a runner to run through arm tackles. He has good elusiveness in the open field to finish the run. He finished the season with 1,163 rushing yards, and 1,247 all-purpose yards.

Overall, a solid player who will be a great addition to any team he plays for due to his leadership and the competitive toughness he shows. Should gain a lot of interest from DII schools, and that is his floor in my opinion.

Hudl / X

Click here to claim your Prep Redzone Prospect Index profile.
Follow me on Twitter @GoLions1934 for further content | @PrepRedzoneVA, and @PrepRedzone | Virginia Scouts @carljfred & @EdOBrienCFB | View my previous Prep Redzone articles here
