Wideouts from the Class of '27 showed a lot of promise during the 2024 season. A majority of them earned the trust of their coaches in their second high school season, and some even became key contributors. Five were mentioned in the first part of this two-part report, but there are more that need to be highlighted. This next group of five rounded off the Top 10 in yardage for the Class of '27. Three of the five prospects are currently in the rankings and there are two eying a spot in the next update.

Cam'ron Fields – Washington, 5'10”, 165, Unranked

Fields of Washington is one of the unranked prospects our staff will be considering in the next Class of '27 rankings update. The Wildcats fielded a fairly young skill position group on offense this season, and Fields emerged as one of their top weapons. He ended his sophomore year as Washington's top receiver and led them in every receiving category, as he collected 32 catcthces for 523 yards and seven touchdowns. With Washington's starting quaterback returning next year, look for Fields to be his favorite target once again.

[player_tooltip player_id='1581123' first='Caleb' last='Grant'] – Baxter Springs, 5'10”, 160, Unranked

Grant was a player we discovered during the Game Ball series back in Week 7, and he's another unranked prospect deserving of consideration in the next update. He was very impressive with his limited targets during his sophomore year. The sophomore may have finished the season second on his team in receiving, but was by far Baxter Springs' most explosive wideout. Grant made the most of his 17 receptions as he went on to rack up 522 yards and six scores.

[player_tooltip player_id='563267' first='Grant' last='Westphal'] – Blue Valley, 6'2”, 190

Westphal put together arugably the best film of any sophomore wideout this season. He did not look like the average first-year starter. Westphal looked more like a veteran in one of the toughest leagues in the state, and is likely to have recruiters reaching out to him soon. The 6-foot-2 sophomore recorded 32 receptions for 663 yards and four touchdowns. His strong season earned him an All-League Honorable Mention nod.

[player_tooltip player_id='933826' first='Cooper' last='Ohnmacht'] – Great Bend, 6'1”, 180

The Great Bend Panthers will be a team to reckon with in 2025. After an impressive 9-1 '24 campaign, they return several key starters next year, and one to be excited about is Ohnmacht. He finished second behind [player_tooltip player_id='1229117' first='Ian' last='Premer'] with 466 yards, 35 receptions, and hit pay dirt six times. He's primed for a standout junior season in 2025.

[player_tooltip player_id='1447083' first='Mason' last='Samuels'] – Council Grove, 6'3”, 200

Samuels capped off the Top 10 for receiving yardage from the Class of '27. Much like the rest of this group, Samuels was also one of the leading receivers for his team during the '24 campaign. The young tight end secured 32 catches for 457 yards and found the end six times. If he can add some size this offseason, Samuels could start to receive interest ahead of his junior year.
