The amount of talent I saw on the 13U and 14U teams from Detroit at the AYF National Championship tournament was scary good. There were Quarterbacks and Wide Receivers who had a chemistry that just couldn't be explained. These six below (3 Quarterbacks and 3 Wide Receiver/Athletes) stood out amongst the prospects from the 313.

Quarterbacks

One of only a handful of prospects not yet in high school (class of 2029 or 2030) on the 14U Westside Cubs. He's listed at 6-foot-2 and has the desirable frame and length for a recruitable prospect down the line. The roster was small and they were undermanned a bit compared to the rest of the bracket, but he looked the part of a Quarterback to know. He and Wide Receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1158729' first='Kameron' last='Lowe'] seemed to have nice rapport, despite the difficulties the faced in Florida.

For the second season in a row at AYF Nationals, [player_tooltip player_id='1400907' first='Easton' last='Meek'] was a prospect who stood out to me. A year ago he was a member of the Southfield Falcons 12U team, this year he was back on the 13U team. Meek was QB1 of an experienced team, surrounded by plenty of familiar faces with big futures, however the Falcons ended up finishing fourth in the bracket.

One of the most dynamic Quarterbacks I saw down at AYF Nationals last week. His dual-threat ability, and frankly all of his athleticism, was on display throughout the week. He had a lot of talent around him and was one of the main factors on the 13U Westside Cubs winning the AYF 13U D2 National Championship. He had credible weapons at every skill position, but he seemed to have a nice connect with Peyton Robibnson.

Wide Receivers

It was a case of tough sledding for the 14U Westside Cubs in the 14U bracket, drawing the eventual D1 champion Vegas Strong in the first round. While they were shutout in that game, there's no denying the potential and ability in Wide Receiver [player_tooltip player_id='1158729' first='Kameron' last='Lowe'] and the chemistry on/off the field with [player_tooltip player_id='1585075' first='Bryce' last='Jackson']. We've covered him before on Prep Redzone Next and what I saw in person, backed that up fully. He's very thin right now at just 6-foot-2 and 150-pounds as of December 2024, but with continued physical development he has the potential.

He's in the eighth-grade and already has an offer from Central Michigan University--that should be all you need to hear about [player_tooltip player_id='1524859' first='Christian' last='Marshall']. Any time I looked through my videos and pictures, it was Marshall on the receiving end of a pass from QB1 [player_tooltip player_id='1400907' first='Easton' last='Meek']. As of December 2024 he has impressive size and ability at 5-foot-11 and 170-pounds. Meek and Marshall had a chemistry that was tough to duplicate. Whether it was a quick WR Screen that allowed him to use his agility or a fly route that showed off his straight-line speed.

Robinson proved to be one of the most athletic and versatile athletes I saw in Florida. Whether or not he was playing Defensive Back and grabbing INTs, or lined up at the Wide Receiver and getting open in space, Robinson really caught my eye. I hate to use the comparison of a cartoon character, but he reminded me of the Road Runner with the way he bent his body to catch passes and then accelerate the moment his feet touched the ground. Even in warmups, I loved the way Robinson and Forris connected.
