I hope everyone is enjoying their Thanksgiving break! I'm back to highlight more uncommitted and unoffered Western PA prospects. All of these athletes had impressive 2024 campaigns, clearly demonstrating their potential to play at the college level. These players have drawn interest from programs ranging from Division 1 FBS to Division 3. Out of this group, five are 2025 prospects—four of whom remain uncommitted, with one still unoffered. Three are junior prospects, two with at least one offer, while the final two are 2027 underclassmen who played well beyond their years. This will be a two-part series, so let's dive in and take a closer look at these rising stars as recruiting heats up.

James Zigler was a key leader for McDowell in 2024, consistently showcasing his natural ability to make plays on both sides of the ball. His body control stood out, whether executing double moves as a wide receiver or shifting gears in coverage as a cornerback. A true competitor, Zigler plays with physicality that exceeds his size. His ability to excel in press coverage while remaining aggressive in zone coverage makes him a versatile asset. Zigler's ball skills, already strong, showed noticeable improvement this season. He demonstrated impressive agility after the catch, frequently making multiple defenders miss on film. This year, James appeared more confident and certain of his collegiate potential, which has drawn the attention of several programs. His playmaking ability, combined with his potential to contribute on special teams, has piqued interest. Currently, Zigler holds an offer from Edinboro in the PSAC. While he has received attention from Division I programs, he is still awaiting his first offer at that level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1317139' first='Nick' last='McCullough'] is a speedy and versatile athlete poised to excel at the next level. He consistently proved to be a downfield threat, capable of making electric plays whenever given the opportunity. His ability to excel in man coverage stood out in 2024, with fluid backpedaling and seamless transitions, complemented by the speed and ball skills to intercept deep throws. McCullough's 4.4 speed was on full display this season, whether on jet sweeps, fade routes, or kick returns, where he outran defenders and found the end zone multiple times. He possesses reliable hands, the speed to stretch the field, and the quickness to make defenders miss in open space. At cornerback, he also showcased a willingness to hit, demonstrating his physicality. His lateral agility and straight-line speed were key factors in his special teams contributions, particularly as a dynamic returner. Nick has garnered several Division I FCS scholarship offers from programs such as Robert Morris, Bucknell, Brown, Duquesne, Davidson, Cornell, and Mercyhurst. Currently, McCullough remains uncommitted.

I last wrote about [player_tooltip player_id='1158787' first='Jayden' last='Revis'] over the summer, and it's great to see that he lived up to his potential this season. He looked sharp in off-man coverage and showcased surprising length in press technique, using his wingspan effectively to get hands on receivers. Revis maintains a controlled tempo in his backpedal, instinctively knowing when to adjust his speed. A natural playmaker, Revis contests the football well and handles double moves with ease in man coverage. He has impressive makeup speed and is a willing tackler who consistently brings down ball carriers in open space. His quick route recognition allows him to break on passes without overextending, showcasing great discipline. Revis also has the speed and vertical leaping ability to challenge #1 receivers on deep throws. In addition to his defensive skills, Revis is a dangerous return specialist and a standout on special teams. Earlier this month, he was rewarded for his strong season with his first FBS offer from Temple University.

Christian was used like a utility knife for the Rams in 2024. He shined on offense and defense, and as a 2027 recruit, he has two seasons still remaining. Jamere is a tough competitor who showcased his ability to be a playmaker this year. His versatility as an athlete was evident when he took reps at WR, RB, Wildcat QB, CB, and kick returner. He possesses game speed and displays elusiveness with the ball in his hands. Christian can make something out of nothing on short passes and showed his speed on jet sweeps and kick returns. As an RB, he's a patient runner who sets up his blocks well, looking for daylight. Defensively, he shows the most promise to me as a CB. Jamere has good hips, and his ball skills set him up for interceptions and PBUs regularly in 2024. His pad level is low, and he breaks on the ball quickly. Christian is skilled at maintaining over-the-top positioning in Cover 3 coverage. He demonstrated the ability to play man coverage and contest passes that came his way. He's also a dangerous returner with the wiggle and speed to take it back for a score. I'm excited to watch his growth over the next few seasons.

Nasir proved this season that he has next-level potential. With a compact 5'10, 180-pound build, he excels at both RB and CB. He's a hard runner with good vision, capable of finding success inside and outside the tackles. Defensively, Scott demonstrates strong anticipation and route recognition, highlighted by a pick-six on a jumped screen pass where his break on the ball stood out. Nas is explosive in short spaces and excels at cutting on inside runs. He's elusive but isn't afraid to lower his shoulder for tough yards. A versatile athlete, Scott showcases top-notch ball skills as a DB and is a dangerous receiving threat out of the backfield. This All-City 2026 prospect also has the traits to be a valuable special teams contributor at the next level. Nasir has been receiving interest from several D1 FCS programs but has yet to receive his first offer.

Reid is a 5'9, 165-pound 2027 prospect who has shown college potential since his freshman season. He's a tough, skilled athlete and a willing tackler who consistently impressed with physical stops, including on the goal line. Reid plays with good pad level and has a smooth pedal with controlled tempo. He excelled at both CB and Safety in two-high coverage, flipping his hips well to contest downfield throws from the hash marks. Jordan has natural coverage skills and delivers surprising power when hitting receivers. His return ability is another asset, making him a threat on both kick and interception returns. Reid's football intelligence allows him to react quickly in run support, and he's also a good route runner with elusiveness after the catch. He releases well versus man coverage and is quick in and out of his breaks. Reid's skill set translates well to the slot receiver or cornerback position at the next level. With two seasons left to develop, his potential is exciting. Reid has attended a few unofficial gameday visits to FBS programs but is currently unoffered.

Johnson showcased his big-play ability all season on both sides of the ball. His competitive energy is evident on film, and he's elusive with the ball, consistently finding daylight in tight spaces. Johnson has impressive lateral quickness and the speed to break off long touchdown runs. Defensively, he's highly active, always around the football. He's a physical tackler who can force fumbles on impact. JuJu displays good hips when dropping into zone coverage and has the ball skills to secure interceptions in curl/flat coverage. As a blitzer, he provides solid pressure and shows strong coverage skills, punishing receivers who venture over the middle. Johnson triggers quickly in run support and has a knack for causing tackles for loss. For his standout performance in 2024, he was named Player of the Year. The 6'0, 180-pound junior is a prospect to watch this offseason. JuJu currently holds two scholarship offers from Slippery Rock and Concord.

Brown is an impressive two-way 2025 prospect who deserves more attention from college programs. He has the skills and size to excel at RB, WR, and DB. As a running back, he's a strider who covers a lot of ground, pulling away on long touchdown runs. He demonstrates quickness, vision, balance, and angle-breaking speed. At wide receiver, he has reliable hands along with the agility and speed to turn short catches into long touchdowns. On defense, he might be even more impressive as a safety. While he occasionally plays with a high pad level, he shows quick anticipation, breaking on throws effectively. His tackling is next-level, and he's capable of delivering big hits. He plays with football intelligence on the backend and runs the alley aggressively to support the run. Brown's competitive nature consistently leads to interceptions and contested plays in coverage. He's also a special teams standout, capable of blocking kicks, making tackles, and returning kicks for touchdowns. Kenyan currently holds an offer from Mercyhurst, as well as opportunities from Toledo, Central State and Capital.

Gavin is one of the most intriguing prospects among the players highlighted. He's an above average athlete with an impressive vertical and broad jump. Versatile on the field, he has logged reps as a WR, RB, DB, and as a highly skilled long snapper. Magorian sets up his cuts well on inside runs and has the speed and quickness to break off long gains. He's a crisp route runner who gets upfield quickly after the catch. Gavin's athleticism makes him difficult to tackle in the open field, as he's explosive out of his breaks and has the frame, strength, and ball skills to break tackles on his way to the end zone. He excels as a long snapper with the speed and strength to make an impact on punt coverage and other special teams at the next level. Gavin has received offers from Youngstown State, Mercyhurst, and Gannon.

Westinghouse had success on defense in 2024, and Jones was a key part of that. He's a solid hitter, whether inside or outside the box, and a smart player who can read and react quickly in run pursuit. He's skilled at disengaging from blockers to make plays and has a nose for the ball, consistently pursuing it sideline to sideline. Marc's athleticism is evident as he moves laterally, tracking plays from the ILB position. At 6'1, 190 lbs, I believe Jones has the potential to play WLB, OLB, or MLB if he gains 15-25 lbs at the next level. His speed and natural tackling ability make him a strong candidate to stand out on special teams. Although currently unoffered, I believe he has the skills to play at either the Division 2 or Division 3 levels. Jones was selected as first-team All-City linebacker and led the Pittsburgh City League in tackles.
