Westfield vs James Madison Players to Watch

<p>There are a number of tilts tonight that make me happy I subscribed to the NFHS Network just yesterday. Westfield vs James Madison is arguably the best as the two squads have a storied history. When they faced off in early October Westfield gave Madison their closest call on the year, falling 26-21. No other team has come within a touchdown of the Warhawks and the Bulldogs had many chances to win that game but Madison like they usually do found a way out. A rematch in Vienna later tonight has a classic in the making, here are a few players to watch:</p>    <p class="text-gray-700">The junior quarterback was efficient enough last week facing a stout Herndon defense, and he will need to be on point tonight. Against the Hornets Carlson threw for just a little over 100 yards with 1 touchdown, but more importantly he took care of the football. Herndon had a top 10 defense but they nor do anyone else compare to what the Warhawks have at each position. The young man is having a really good season one that should lead to attention from numerous colleges this off-season. If he is able to take down the undefeated Warhawks, that will go a long way for his resume.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Lucas is a baller he averages roughly 10-15 tackles per game, if he doesn't have 20 tonight I will be surprised. A senior and long time starter, [player_tooltip player_id='1232434' first='Troy' last='Lucas'] earned the Concorde District Player of the year honors. The kid is a competitor and he knows the task at hand tonight, I would expect him to active early and often.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/troy_lucas25/status/1855803254484963470 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">When Madison's offense is humming you can bet Division 1 standout [player_tooltip player_id='1228836' first='Dominic' last='Knicely'] is involved. The all state running back has been everything for the Warhawks offense, making plays both out of the backfield and receiving. He really has elevated his game from a year ago, Knicely typically has 1 or 2 receptions that alter the course the contest. You know the Bulldogs will be keying on him early, like every school tries too. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">For the Warhawks defense it starts with their front seven and [player_tooltip player_id='1231282' first='Jackson' last='Ambruzs'] always seems to be in the middle of the action. Nearly every game he has created constant pressure up front, he is a headache to block one on one. A mixture of power and speed, [player_tooltip player_id='1231598' first='Kennedy' last='Duda'] is an underrated star and has been for two years. He flies off the snap and with his long reach he seems to always be in the backfield. In their game earlier this year against Marshall, he tore thru a double to force a fumble that changed the course of this matchup. It seems every week Madison has a defender or two (sometimes more) that create a turnover, will Green make his presence known early?</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Said it before and I will say it again [player_tooltip player_id='1232344' first='Cael' last='Yates'] has improved at the quarterback position which says a lot considering he was first team all district as a junior. He has been more accurate and faster, he really exceeds throwing the ball out of the pocket. Madison depends on their ground game first before they start to hit you up with play action and screen passes. Typically if a team is shutting down their vaunted rushing attack, Yates hits two or three throws that completely throw off the opposing defense. </p>    <p>The showcases are back once again and we are excited they are coming to Virginia this January!
