Most of the schools in the VHSL will have another week of regular season games and much has left to be decided. A few programs have clinched their playoff ticket or perhaps region title, but we still have a ways to go. Week 10 game balls below:

[player_tooltip player_id='1231611' first='Trent' last='Pane'] had four sacks yesterday to help Lake Braddock clinch another region title. Going up against South County, Pane was his typical dominant self. He was constantly in the backfield with several quarterback pressures and by the second half, he was opening up 1 on 1 matchups with his fellow defensive lineman Markus Gilmore and Browne Callahan. An outstanding performance by the Bruins defense overall and a game that Pane made his mark often.

Senior Browne Callahan had a blocked punt that set up Lake Braddock's first score and rushed for the other two touchdowns on the day. When the Bruins ground game really got rolling in the second half, it was Callanan and [player_tooltip player_id='853848' first='Payton' last='Holmes'] that were forming a good one-two punch. Callanan was deliver the boom and showed nifty footwork on a couple of his carries. Quite the day all around for the senior who may have earned himself more opportunities to carry the football.

When I first saw Sharpe play earlier in the year I thought he had a chance to be a major 2028 stock riser. He has since gotten better and is part of Woodbridge squad that has the Vikings faithful with a ton of optimism. Against a solid Potomac Senior defense the freshman had over 100 total yards and 3 rushing touchdowns. Sharpe Jr. has accumulated nearly 500 rushing yards playing a tough Cardinal district, he is a part of an exciting group over in Woodbridge.

Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1337962' first='Zayden' last='Burks'] is coming into his own for the red hot Skyline Hawks. In a huge win on the road at Brentsville, Burks went scorched earth with 198 rushing yards on 25 carries. You read that correctly he averaged 7.9 yards per carry with one touchdown as Skyline continues their hot streak. Winners of five in a row, the Hawks are getting monster outings from a number of playmakers.

Speaking of, [player_tooltip player_id='1236506' first='Marques' last='Lockhart'] is perhaps a bit overlooked but needless to say he has been great as well. 2 receptions for over the century mark (122) and 1 touchdown, Lockhart was instrumental in the Hawks pushing past the Tigers. You all should know I have been high on his teammate [player_tooltip player_id='1236315' first='Isiah' last='Maxwell'] since before the season, but Lockhart, Burks and many others has Skyline's future stock looking bright!

Pretty remarkable how much Hamlin has improved the Red Wolves offense since taking over late in 2023. In Gar-Field's biggest win of the year and maybe the whole county, Hamlin was nearly flawless. Throwing for 3 touchdowns and over 200 yards, he added a fourth score on the ground in an excellent outing. The Red Wolves appear to have a playoff spot seemingly lined up but Hamlin and company want more.

Recently announcing his decommitment from Coastal Carolina [player_tooltip player_id='1228836' first='Dominic' last='Knicely'] looks reenergized as the Warhawks playoff run begins. He tore through the Oakton Cougars defense for 171 yards and 21 carries. Finding the endzone three times Knicely has fresh legs and is looking to kick into 5th gear. It will be interesting to see how his recruiting lines up as he should have many of FBS level suitors.

Madison once again has a defender step up in victory and Week 10 it was Grahm Gorkowski doing the honors. The junior had a pick six and 3 tackles in their impressive win over Oakton. The Warhawks have maybe the best defensive unit in the state, each week a new kid steps in the limelight with the same dominant results.
