Week 10 Defensive Standouts

Last night, the regular season of high school football came to an end in Arkansas. We evaluated several standout prospects based on their performances from Friday night on the defensive side of the ball. Their film was impressive, as they excelled in every phase of the game. He consistently took good angles, showcasing his physicality at the point of attack. Ingle racked up 10 tackles and 2 TFLs. He displays solid read-and-react ability, positioning himself to make tackles in space or arrive at the catch point to potentially force a pass breakup. Stays square while shedding blocks quickly to fill gaps. His determination and skill on the field really stood out, contributing significantly to his team's effort. Smith is a versatile safety who can line up inside the box, deep thirds, off-man, or at nickel. He's well-balanced, with dominance in run support and pass coverage. Good read and react ability, consistently putting himself in a position to make a play on the football. Archer, a highly anticipated recruit in Arkansas's class of 2025, continues to excel. He has the ability to dominate off the EDGE or off-ball linebacker. Archer is a dynamic playmaker on the edge, showcasing good athletic ability, explosion, and edge containment awareness outside to force the play into traffic. Good upfield burst off the LOS with the ability to pursue backside vs the run with a very good sideline-to-sideline motor. He displays very good bend, foot quickness, hand placement, hand strength, and lower body power to create leverage to read, shed, and beat his opposition, making consistent plays in the backfield. He demonstrates good read-and-react skills as a linebacker, attacking the football quickly. He shows good change of direction and lateral agility in coverage. He displays a quick initial read step, immediately attacking downhill to make plays on the ball. As a blitzing linebacker, he effectively sheds blocks or squeezes through gaps to disrupt plays in the backfield. His footwork and tackling technique are commendable, allowing him to secure tackles in open space. Additionally, he has a good understanding of zone coverage, ensuring that he keeps everything underneath. Estrich recorded 4 tackles (2 solo), 1 interception, and 1 PBU on Friday night. He showcases good athletic ability due to good foot speed, lateral agility, balance, change of direction, and burst. Estrich displays good fluidity in his hips to transition in his backpedal. Very good read and react ability, putting himself in position to make a play on the ball and arrive at the catch point to force a PBU or INT due to his COD, balance, and burst. Overall, he doesn't allow much separation off breaks by staying inside the hip pocket.
