Underclassmen Defenders that you can build your team around

<p class="text-gray-700">Second team all district corner back [player_tooltip player_id='1291833' first='Nigel' last='Asamoah'] had a very good season for the Chancellor Chargers. Asamoah is 6'0 and 165 lbs., he notched 30 solo tackles and 3 interceptions this past fall. Playing a variety of roles for the Chargers, Asamoah has excellent range and footwork. Also a contributor on offense, he has a 3.4 GPA, he is bound for a monster senior season!</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/nigelasamoah1/status/1855356518700573150 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">Colgan's [player_tooltip player_id='853886' first='LJ' last='Richards'] is an elite playmaker at both running back and linebacker, he has been the past two years over in Manassas. Richards was first team all Cardinal district on both sides, its his work at linebacker that really stands out in my opinion. His ridiculous stat line of 105 tackles, 6 sacks and 1 interception nearly carried his squad to a playoff birth. The young man can do a little bit of everything and is poised to get more interest from schools this off-season. I prefer his work at linebacker, but I could see him playing safety or even defensive end at the next level. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Just getting notified of [player_tooltip player_id='1566389' first='Malachi' last='Lee'], but when I tell you expect to hear us talking about him a lot with the 2028 class you better believe it. As a true freshmen [player_tooltip player_id='1566389' first='Malachi' last='Lee'] made his presence known as Westfield began their playoff run. He will certainly be relied on offensively the next couple of seasons for the Bulldogs, and at defensive back the Westfield staff already trusts him. Lee is 6'2 and 185 lbs. of lighting speed and vision already, what do you think he can accomplish next in the Concorde District? Check out his tape below he is a sure fire playmaker that is poised to debut in our 2028 Virginia Class rankings. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/Malachi_ballin1/status/1855685420975058970 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">Healthy or not [player_tooltip player_id='1361438' first='Yanni' last='Prionas'] can play and is poised to come back his senior year even stronger for the Annandale Atoms. Despite missing time throughout his junior season, Prionas collected close to 40 tackles at linebacker for the Atoms. I believe his best bet at the next level is in the secondary but for now let's keep him at linebacker. With a good off-season commitment from this dude he should figure into the Atoms game plan significantly.</p>   <p></p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Langley should have some pieces returning next year and linebacker [player_tooltip player_id='1532618' first='Hudson' last='Eberline'] sure is one of them. Eberline was an honorable mention All-Liberty district selection and had some of his best outings in the Saxons playoff run. He is an ascending talent, who lead the way on defensive for Langley's first playoff win in over 10 years. Against Marshall and their veer rushing attack, he had 10 tackles and was all over the field. Eberline is a 6'0 and 200 lbs, he is one of of the top returning linebackers for the 2025 season.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/Hud_Eberline20/status/1858908857856061670 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">After Reyes helped bring the Panthers the first championship in over 20 years, I had to include him in this piece. First team all WCAC selection, I profiled Reyes a couple times prior but he deserves the recognition. The Panthers do graduate a lot of playmakers on both offense and defense, they could use Reyes leadership next fall. Regardless he was a force all season and at 6'3 and 250 lbs., I would expect him to start nabbing college offers soon. </p>    <p>The showcases are back once again and we are excited they are coming to Virginia this January!
