Baltimore, Metro All-Star QB'S Ready to Shine at the BTC Classic

The 28th Annual Baltimore Touchdown Club (BTC) All-Star Classic will occur on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2024, at Guilford Park High Stadium in Maryland. The game will feature a matchup between the Baltimore All-Stars and the Metro All-Stars.   As high school football players look to make their mark before heading to the next level, the BTC Classic provides a stage for senior quarterbacks to shine in front of college scouts.   PRZ Maryland takes a quick look at the senior quarterbacks who are playing in the event. Some of these players have an offer, and some have accepted. However, none of them have committed to any school since this article.   BALTIMORE ALL-STARS   [player_tooltip player_id='272254' first='Ahmir' last='Lowery'] – Arundel   Lowery is trying to lead his team to the MPSSAA 3A championship game (they play in the semi-finals this weekend). He's completed 122-of-187 passes for 2,099 yards, 21 touchdowns, and zero interceptions for the year. Lowery has also carried the football 60 times for 624 yards. Last week, in his team's 34-14 win over St. Charles, he accounted for over 100 yards of offense and a touchdown. Lowery has thrown for over 3,500 yards and 32 touchdowns in 18 games over the past two years.    [player_tooltip player_id='1575266' first='Davon' last='Smith']  - Mervo   Smith, who has an offer from Central Connecticut State, accounted for four touchdowns in his team's 46-26 win over Frederick this past weekend.     [player_tooltip player_id='1579658' first='Vince' last='Nguyen'] – Severna Park   Nguyen finished his senior year with 133-of-254 passes, completed 2,047 yards, 20 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. He had three games of 300-plus yards passing and threw a season-high six touchdown passes in a 41-28 win over Crofton on Oct. 25.    [player_tooltip player_id='504797' first='Savion' last='Witherspoon'] – Dunbar   Witherspoon ran for a touchdown and threw another in Dunbar's 36-0 win over Fallston to reach the 2A/1A state semi-finals.   Here is what I had to say about Witherspoon back on Oct. 17:   <blockquote class="wp-block-quote"> <blockquote class="wp-block-quote"> Witherspoon gets the ball out quickly, and most of the plays show him throwing it no more after 2-3 seconds. I think it's a credit to him for finding the primary target quickly. None of the throws seem forced. There are several plays where he avoids sacks while keeping his eyes downfield. He's one of the top offensive players in the Baltimore City League. </blockquote> </blockquote>     METRO ALL-STARS   Shawn Pelovitz – Linganore   Pelovitz ran for two touchdowns and passed for another two in his team's 34-14 win over Bel Air in the Class 3A quarterfinals. He finished the regular season with 1,508 passing yards and 23 passing touchdowns. Pelovitz also finished with 189 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. His team will be playing in the MPSSAA 3A semi-finals this weekend. Pelovitz has an offer from Shenendoah.     [player_tooltip player_id='1544743' first='Chase' last='Miller'] – Liberty   Miller finished his senior year with 1,836 passing yards and 20 touchdowns in 10 games. I'll have to come back and do a full evaluation on him once his senior-year highlights are completed.    [player_tooltip player_id='1579990' first='Terrell' last='Hearn'] – Perry Hall   Hearn accounted for a little over 100 yards and two touchdowns in his team's 39-2 win over Wooton this past weekend. They are now in the MPSSAA 4A/3A state semifinals. He's completed 115-of-174 passes for 1,858 yards, 22 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions in eleven games this season.
