Arkansas Playoffs – 4A/3A Round Two Standouts

Round Two Recap: We evaluated several impressive prospects based on their performance on both sides of the ball from Friday night. Their film showcased their excellence in every phase of the game.    Joseph Accelus once again dominated in all areas of the game. On the ground Friday night, he rushed for 262 yards and scored 2 touchdowns. Additionally, he made 2 receptions for 50 yards and another touchdown. His athleticism and elusiveness were consistently on display. Accelus showcases good post-snap vision and possesses a good burst through tackles. His lateral agility and change of direction allow him to evade defenders in space, and he can quickly exploit cutback lanes. With solid natural balance and good leg drive, he breaks tackles and gains extra yards. In the receiving game, he demonstrates strong hands and fluid route running. He also made an interception while playing as a defensive back. Townsend is a shifty and quick receiver, showcasing strong hands, good hand-eye coordination, and body control. These allow him to make catches in contested situations or adjust mid-route. Additionally, he demonstrates solid read-and-react ability and physicality on the defensive side of the ball, making him effective as a defensive back. On defense, he contributed with 2 tackles and 2 interceptions. Chaten Jr. is physically imposing, using his size to dominate at all levels of the field. He has a quick release off the line of scrimmage, due to his good acceleration and foot quickness, allowing him to cover ground swiftly with no wasted motion in his routes. He creates separation effectively, whether downfield or at his break points, due to his change of direction, balance, and burst. Additionally, he possesses good hand-eye coordination, an impressive catch radius, and the body control needed to adjust mid-route, enabling him to catch the ball away from his body or high-point it with strong hands. He also recorded five receptions for 131 yards and one touchdown. On the defensive side, he made eight tackles, one interception, and had one pass breakup (PBU). Young is a versatile athlete on both sides of the ball with good athletic ability. He demonstrates good coverage skills and the ability to disrupt passes. Young plays with a sideline-to-sideline motor and solid read-and-react ability. Offensively, he is an RAC threat as a pass catcher and consistently makes defenders miss in space. He recorded 10 tackles, with 5 of them being solo. Kinney shows a quick first step, allowing him to read and react effectively. He attacks downhill against the run with good angles while maintaining a square stance. His solid pursuit enables him to chase down ball carriers from behind, and he consistently showcases physicality.
