4A Playoffs: Region 3-4A v Region 4-4A Players to Watch

GHSA playoffs kick off this Week and the 4A Class looks competitive from top to bottom. Prep Redzone gives you 8 players to watch this Friday in the Region 3-4A v 4-4A matchups.   3-4A #4 Harris County Tigers at 4-4A #1 Creekside Seminoles   This one of the more intriguing 4-Seed v 1-Seed matchups in 4A Round 1. The Harris County Tiger (7-3) will travel to Fairburn to face the #7 (7-2) Creekside Seminoles. Creekside is only a 2 TD favorite, the smallest predicted margin of victory for a 4 v 1.    The Junior MLB is a very intriguing prospect. He is hard to find film on, with his only HUDL highlight being from a padded camp back in the Summer. What we do know is he is a tackling machine with 58 TT with 10 TFL for the Tigers in '24.   He was the named the Columbus Ledger Player of the Week after totaling 13 tackles against Starr's Mill several weeks back. Johnson tops my list of players to learn more about this offseason.     The #10 ranked WR in the latest Prep Redzone rankings has had an outstanding Senior season. The 6'1 205 Senior caught 37 passes for 643 yards with 11 TDs for the 7th ranked Seminoles.   Solid physically with good hands. Vickerson is a smooth route runner that glides through the defense, natural athlete. Shifty and quick that has the ability to gain positive yards with the ball in his hands.   A former Adidas All American and a member of the ESPN Top 300, Vickerson will open some eyes with a big post season.    4-4A #3 Maynard Jackson Jaguars at 3-4A #2 Jonesboro Cardinals   The (7-3) Jonesboro Cardinals maybe the hottest team in 4A heading into the post season. The upset Starr's Mill the final week of the season to secure a home playoff game 1st Rd. The Jaguars have had a good season of their own coming in (8-2) with a young squad.    The 6'1 185 Junior dual threat QB has had an outstanding year leading the Jaguars to an 8-2 season with their only losses coming to #7 Creekside and Mays.   Has a side arm delivery with enough arm strength to get the ball over the top of the defense in the post and fade routes. Accurate short route passer. Parks keeps the defense honest with his ability to make plays with his legs and posses enough speed to hurt you if he is left unaccounted for.   Good Junior year with good upside headed into the offseason.     The 6'2 3-star LB has flown under the Prep Redzone radar but not anymore. The recent University of Cincinnati commit is a game changer for the Cardinals.   Plays with a lot of intensity and gets off the ball as fast as anyone I have seen on film this post season. Athletic with a great vertical jump that can disrupt plays without ever touching the ball. Good IQ when in run defense mode, sits back and watches the play develop then attacks.   Friday will be an interesting matchup watching Collier try and contain the running game of Jackson.    4-4A #4 ML King Lions at 3-4A #1 Central Lions   ML King will be big underdogs on the road at Central 1st Round. To have a chance at the upset they will need to find a way to corral all the playmakers in the Central lineup. Central is a 4 TD favorite.    The Lions only throw the ball 10 to 12 times a game but Lynch made the most of his opportunities. He led the team with 34 receptions for 558 yards and 3 TDs and was recently named 2nd team All Dekalb County.   Not the tallest receiver you will see this post season but maybe the most physical. He routinely out jumps taller DBs on the post and fade routes and is not afraid to catch the ball in traffic. Sure handed receiver that can move the sticks.     The 5'9 Sophomore QB is not really an under the radar guy as Prep Redzone has him ranked as the #4 overall QB in the 2027. He is worth mentioning here because watching him is worth the price of admission on Friday nights.   The dual threat signal caller accounted for 2579 total yards with 32 TDs to lead the Lions to their 2nd consecutive Region Title and will be at home in the playoffs for at least the 1st two weeks.   Accurate with good arm talent, what sets him apart is his in game IQ. Good decision maker and watching him you can see how the game just comes naturally for him. No doubt his height has kept him from becoming a national recruit already but the guy can play at the next level.    3-4A #3 Starr's Mill Panthers at 4-4A #2 Mays Bulldogs   1st Round upset alert here as the lower seed Starr's Mill will travel to Mays as a 2 point favorite on the road. This game should be one of the marquee matchups in Class 4A during the 1st Rd.    Fellow writer Connor Jackson pegged this 6'0 WR as one of his Breakout Senior WRs in a preseason article. Delaere has not disappointed.   He led the Panthers in receiving this year with 29 receptions for 627 yards, averaging over 21 yards per catch and scoring 7 TDs.   Good route runner with above average hands that has shown the ability to make acrobatic catches. He was the recipient of the Recruit Georgia Play of The Week after making a spectacular one handed grab v Jonesboro.   Next level potential and a big post season will go along way in programs taking notice of this talented WR.     At 6'0 180, Husband may not have found his way onto many recruiting boards but this kid can play.   He accounted for 138 TT this season for the Bulldogs with 6 TFLs. He topped the 15 TT mark in 8 of the 10 games played this season with a season high 22 tackles v powerhouse Langston Hughes.   Gets downhill fast and has good play recognition. Is one the most vicious tacklers I have seen on film this year, loves to hit. Great agility that can pursue from side line to side line. I could see him getting some looks at Corner at the next level with his speed and ability to hit.
