As the second round of the state playoffs unfold this week, there are future prospects away from the spotlight who deserve recognition.

With an eye on that current senior (2025) class, there is also a need for colleges to understand that there is so much talent in the state for the upcoming classes, it is more than essential to continue putting these young men out there.

As we will do over the next year, and have done for a number of years, the emphasis on promoting and exposing every athlete possible opens doors for college coaches to expand their database.

Today, we add some more rising juniors (2027) who will look to jump into the spotlight:

Daylen Brown

WR

6-2, 185

Green Cove Springs Clay.

WHAT TO LIKE: During a season where this gifted prospect had 32 receptions for 413 yards and six touchdowns, he showed exactly why he is someone you want to keep an eye on in the off-season and into the 2025 season. He is quick off the ball, shows the ability to run solid patterns and has a knack of getting open. In addition, his work in the classroom (3.22 GPA) will also be a selling point for colleges. The Blue Devils will be able to build an offense with a gifted, young prospect like this.

6-1, 170

WHAT TO LIKE: West Palm Beach Cardinal Newman. Make no mistake – when it comes to developing talent – the Crusaders and head coach Jack Daniels have been known to elevate talent from the very start. This is an athlete who is a true center fielder, covering everything in the secondary with the ability to read and react with the best of the – especially at his age. Superb ball skills with the ability to cover and use his speed and knowledge of the position. His 4.2 GPA in the classroom also shows that he is in this for the long haul, on and off the playing field.

LaTroy Pender, Jr.

S

5-11, 165

Fort Myers Riverdale.

WHAT TO LIKE: Ask anyone who watched this prospect perform this season and all will tell you the same: this is a quality football player who could be special for years to come. What separated him from the rest during his sophomore season was a knack of coming up with the big play when the Raiders and head coach Kendoll Gibson needed. For such a young talent, he reads well and will certainly make you pay when catching a ball. College coaches are finding out about him fast. A three sport (basketball and track) athlete who gets it done in the classroom (3.52 GPA) as well.

Nazir Pitchford

WR

6-2, 165

Palmetto

WHAT TO LIKE. Even though the season ended much quicker than expected – with a first round upset, here is a talented receiver who gave more than a preview of what lies ahead in his career. His 33 catches for 516 yards and seven touchdowns were among the best numbers in the region for 2027 players. What makes him so special is what he does after catching the ball. Strong, agile and has true breakaway speed. He has tremendous body control and knows where he is always. Will emerge as a national recruit in the off-season for the talented Tigers.

Jayden St. Fort

WR

6-3, 175

West Palm Beach Oxbridge Academy

WHAT TO LIKE: When young athletes and their coaches ask how to get on the radar or earn “stars”, there is only one truth. Get it done on the football field! Jayden did exactly that this past season when he parlayed his size and athletic ability to showcase his skills on both sides of the ball. On offense, he ended with 32 catches for 436 yards and four touchdowns in just four games. Add to that what he did on defense – in the secondary with two picks and numerous tackles and you have someone who has started to get himself out there as a prospect to keep an eye on this off-season and into 2025.
