Our 2026 rankings dropped last Thursday, and a boatload of talent was added. These prospects come from all around the state and come in all shapes and sizes. Today, I wanted to focus on the linebacker room and which guys I think could see their stock rise. These guys all put together quality sophomore films, but I think their junior tape will be even better.

Caleb Mooring, 6'1" 215, Vandegrift

Mooring is strong taking on blocks at the point of attack, he takes smart angles to the tackle and has some serious pop as a tackler. He's tough, dependable, has natural body control, and can rush the passer off the edge.

[player_tooltip player_id='1271104' first='Ryder' last='Garcia'] 6'3" 225, Denton Guyer

Garcia has good size for the position, he has the quickness to shoot open gaps and will utilize the gator roll tackle when he's out-leveraged. He's got good instincts in zone coverage, he stays square & speeds his feet on contact, and is a high-effort prospect who plays through the whistle.

[player_tooltip player_id='977624' first='Alonzo' last='Welch'] 6'2" 185, Mesquite Horn

A sudden outside linebacker with burst, balance, and the ability to fold inside to assist on tackles. He's violent when taking on blocks, he does a good job setting the edge not letting anything outside of him, and has the athletic ability of a defensive back to run with wideouts up the seam.

[player_tooltip player_id='1493503' first='Jaxon' last='Cannida'] 6'3" 205, Frisco Emerson

Jaxon is a smooth operator in space, he can get after the passer and will get his hands up late if he can't get to the quarterback. He's long-limbed, can generate knockback on blockers at the point of attack, and is a sure tackler within the box.

[player_tooltip player_id='977641' first='Tieson' last='Ejiawoko'] 6'3" 225, Georgetown East View

A physical mike linebacker that can make challenging tackles out of awkward body positions and can stun a back between the tackles in his tracks. He gives up no ground when forced to meet a back in the hole, he's got a cerebral playing style and shows terrific closing speed on tape.

[player_tooltip player_id='1454501' first='Izayah' last='Young'] 6" 205, San Marcos

Young can flat-out fly and will hawk ball carriers from behind. His motor never stops running and he's an extremely disruptive pass rusher coming off the edge. He's twitchy, has got a lightning-quick first step, and plays with a sense of urgency.
