Week Nine Scouting Report

It's crunch time in Arkansas, where wins are necessary in seeding and playoff appearances. Last week, plenty of talent was on display, high-scoring games were played, and more. Our weekly scouting reports will continue to include detailed analyses of key players to monitor for the week in question, potential risers, or promising prospects who may not have garnered significant attention thus far and should watch as the season grows. Here are seven prospects to watch:    [player_tooltip player_id='1543261' first='Maurice' last='Washington'] is a versatile prospect who excels at tight end, wide receiver, and running back. Last week, he dominated on the ground with 15 carries for 134 yards (8.9 YPC) and one touchdown. He displays a quick release out wide and inline due to good acceleration and foot quickness. He also has good hand-eye coordination, body control, and strong hands, allowing him to adjust mid-route or high point the football while becoming a RAC threat. At running back, he displays solid post-snap vision to locate the running lane with a good burst through the tackles. Overall good contact balance and leg drive to break tackles consistently. They face Piggott on the road this week. He's very good in run support and displays solid read and react ability as he attacks downhill with good angles and physicality at the point of attack. In coverage, he has a solid change of direction, lateral agility, and balance when working through zone coverage. They face Valley View on the road this week. [player_tooltip player_id='1543688' first='Alex' last='McCray'] is a big-bodied wideout who showcases fluent route running as he can create separation off his breaks due to solid change of direction, balance, and burst. He has good hand-eye coordination, body control, and strong hands, as he can adjust mid-route and catch vs. contest. Watch him this week as they face Little Rock Christian at home. Assan does it all as he displays a quick first step with good post-snap vision to read the defensive front and locate the running lane quickly with a good burst. He has the ability to create against early penetration due to good lateral agility, COD, and burst. When he plants off his back foot, he explodes through the hole, displaying his impressive burst. Multi-cut ability with good contact balance and leg drive to break tackles or make second-level defenders miss with his ability to elude. They face Harrison at home this week. Brown displays good post-snap vision to locate the running lane and patience to follow blockers. Multi-cut ability due to good change of direction, lateral agility, burst, and vision to locate an opening backside or play side. He can evade early penetration as well. He breaks tackles with good contact balance, leg drive, and active feet to create yards after contact in the first and second levels. They face El Dorado at home this week. This matchup has a compelling story, and all eyes should be on it.    [player_tooltip player_id='1227649' first='Ben' last='Vincent'] is a versatile wide receiver who can play the X, Y, or slot positions due to his ability to create separation and win with strong hands. Vincent displays a quick release off the line of scrimmage due to good acceleration and footwork. He's a smooth and fluent route runner with sharp breaks due to good change of direction, burst, and balance. He can work across his defender with ease as he showcases the ability to find the open space and sit or attack the zone with awareness. He demonstrates very good hand-eye coordination, body control, and balance as he's able to high-point the football or adjust mid-route. A true RAC threat at any level of the field due to his up-field burst and lateral agility. He displays good footwork and technique. Robinson has very good hip fluidity in his backpedal and transitions to stick with his man vertically or on breaks, staying inside the hip pocket of the receiver and not allowing any room for separation. Overall, the fluidity in his movements allows him to key on the receiver, react, and make a play on the ball quickly, forcing a PBU or INT.
