St. Anne’s-Belfield vs Blue Ridge Game Report

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Last night I headed to Charlottesville, VA to the campus of the St. Anne's-Belfield Saints to watch them take on the Blue Ridge Barons. The final score of the game went in favor of Blue Ridge with a 42-8 victory. <br>Blue Ridge improves to 5-0 and will host Atlantic Shores Christian on 9/12.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>St. Anne's-Belfield is at 3-3 and has a bye week, and will travel to Catholic on 10/18. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:separator --> <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" /> <!-- /wp:separator --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We will be hosting our first <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2024/10/prep-redzone-stock-up-showcases-are-back-this-winter/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Stock Up Showcase</a> on January 12, 2025 in Harrisonburg, VA! At our events, we have the drill ran by college coaches, so you will be able meet and perform in front of those who will recruit you. The showcase is open to class of 2025-2028 players. In a class full of great offensive linemen, Luca should not be overlooked. He has the height, frame, and size you want to play offensive line at the next level. Very well could go Division 1. He has good burst through the hole that gets him to the second level quickly, running with balance and good vision. You can see this play in the highlight below on the first play. He scored the second TD of the game as well which set up Blue Ridge's control of the game early. He transferred to the United States from Sweden and has been making his mark this season. He plugged the middle of the defense for Blue Ridge, making life difficult for St. Anne's offensive line. He has a very good frame with broad shoulders - what you look for in a linebacker. His game lived up to what I have written in the past, playing with speed and explosiveness. When I specifically would watch him, he was in a stacked LB position on defense. His gap integrity and processing make Blue Ridge a tough defense to run the ball on. He used good change of direction at the route breaks that produced separation that the defensive back could not recover from. He finished the play by bringing in the catch with soft hands.
