<h2 class="wp-block-heading">In-depth analysis of some of the top 2025 offensive prospects in Sonoma County. </h2>    Mercado is a top prospect in the county for both baseball and football. He's led Casa Grande to a 6-2 record with his dual-threat skillset and natural playmaking ability. Through the first eight games he's thrown for over 1,300 yards and 17 touchdowns with only three interceptions on 142 attempts. He's completed 68% of his passes and has added 500 yards and six touchdowns rushing. At 5'11” 185 lbs. he's a smooth athlete and accurate both from the pocket and on the run to either direction. He's got a quick over the top delivery with good touch and trajectory on the ball. Does a good job mixing up velocities and layering the ball over second level defenders. Like his ability to improvise and create when protection breaks down. Shows composure in the pocket and under pressure with good command and leadership qualities for the position.     Athletic offensive tackle at 6'3” 210 lbs. but projects as a college level TE or DE. Flashes good natural movement skills and footwork. Plus lateral agility and lower body quickness to match movement and stay in front of defenders in his pass set. In the run game he's an aggressive blocker with a powerful punch to get good initial contact. Violent finisher that shows plus contact balance and leg drive to push opponents off the ball. High football IQ, that is aware and can adjust to different fronts and assignments. Athleticism allows to work to the second level and be effective blocking in space with good angles and positional leverage. Recently picked up his first two offers from Lewis and Clark and Pacific.      Smart and instinctive player with good size and skillset to play either side of the ball at the college level. At 6'0” 185 lbs. he displays natural ball skills and good hands. Plus tracking ability and consistently makes difficult catches downfield and in traffic. Flashes good awareness of coverages and creating throwing lanes by finding space and establishing himself as a target. After the catch, he's elusive in the open field and can use his long speed to turn short passes into long gains. Also, a very good safety prospect with reactionary quickness and closing speed in coverage. Picked up his first offer this month from D2 program Minot State.      Good natural athlete that is an impact player on both sides of the ball for Piner. At 6'0” 165 lbs. he's a solid route runner that can create separation at all three levels. Plus body control and spatial awareness to make contested catches with defenders closing in. Attacks the ball with his hands and extends out to prevent it from getting into his body. Savvy after the catch, he's shifty in the open field with and accelerates out of his cuts to avoid secondary defenders and extend gains. Leaping ability and timing allow him to go up and compete for the ball at the high point. Also gets involved in the running game and is a strong cover corner that can come up and deliver contact. Through eight games he has 40 receptions and almost 1,000 scrimmage yards with 12 touchdowns.      Nickens is a fluid and explosive athlete that can attack all three levels of the field with his downfield speed and route running ability. At 6'0” 175 lbs. he possesses good acceleration and a strong drive phase off the LOS to close space and eat up DB's cushion. Creative with his releases, his lateral movement and hand usage prevents DB's from getting into his body. He's quick in and out of his breaks dropping his hip level to change directions and burst out. Flashes good short area quickness to create separation at the short/intermediate levels and be elusive in the open field after the catch. Plus ball judgement skills, he tracks it well into his hands and can adjust while maintaining his speed. Holds offers from UNLV and Nevada.
