Quarterbacks to watch in the Tidewater region of VA this week

He's a UConn football commit. Green Run is currently 8-0 and averaging 35.8 points per game. Farrar usually has time to take his time at the line of scrimmage before the snap and read the defense. His ability to decipher what the defense tries to do enables him to get the football quickly to the best throwing option. Most, if not all, of his throws are outside of the hashes. Farrar's arm strength allows him to push the ball downfield. He throws a lovely long ball, but none of the throws in his film are underthrown. Farrar's mobility in and outside of the pocket is showcased in his highlights. He's a throw-first quarterback, but he can make defenses pay with his legs. I would like to see more throws between the hashes and out-routes. His team is currently 3-4 (2-1 in its last three games). Newkirk, a southpaw, can throw the football all over the field. I'd like him to get more zip and power behind his throws. Newkirk throws a beautiful long ball and often catches the receiver in stride. He does an excellent job of spreading the football around and doesn't lock in on one receiver. It's hard to argue with the results from a high school production standpoint. In what looks like limited action due to blowouts, he's thrown close to 1,500 yards and will likely cross the 2,000-yard threshold.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>His mid-season highlight reel isn't ready, so I looked at his 350-plus-yard passing effort against Lake Taylor a couple of weeks ago. I think he's at his best when throwing short-to-medium-range passes. He quickly gets the ball out of his hands and has excellent timing with his receivers. Even though his team has had a tough go of it in its first seven games. Englert gets the ball out quickly; most of his highlights have him passing the ball within 1-2 seconds after the snap. Has the ability to work through progressions when protected. A few throws show him throwing off his back foot. Mobile and able to escape pressure in the pocket. Unfortunately, Grant was injured in the second quarter and did not finish the game. The first ten or so plays on his current highlight reel show his ability to throw on the run, make plays with his legs, throw the fade ball with accuracy and touch, and his escapability in the pocket. He's a dual-threat quarterback who can make things happen with his legs. He also has solid passing numbers and shows touch and timing with his throws.
