Noah Swigart has been impressive this season for his productivity in the secondary, and despite the loss to Washington this week, Swigart had another statement performance, racking up 6 tackles and 2 interceptions, with one returned for a touchdown. Swigart's pick six came off an errant throw to the outside, where Swigart was there to make the play, and he had an open lane to the endzone after that. Swigart finishes his senior campaign with 4 interceptions, proving to be one of the few bright spots for a struggling Fort Madison team this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1844903' first='Jaxon' last='Griffith'] has been an amazing all-purpose threat for Webster City this season, establishing a big role in all three aspects of the game. Against #1-ranked Humboldt on the road, Griffith once again delivered, but it was his defensive performance that shined the most, finishing with 9 tackles (8 solo), 2 TFLs, and an interception. Griffith has a dangerous amount of speed and elusiveness, but he showed that he has plenty of tenacity stuffing the ball-carrier, and his quick closing speed allows him to be at the point of attack to limit players from gaining extra yardage. Griffith should see his stock rise heading into his senior season as he's established himself as one of the most talented athletes on Webster City's roster.

On the other side of the field against Webster City was Jackson Flaherty, a junior for Humboldt who hasn't seen much playing time this year. Playing in an extended role for the final regular season game, Flaherty flashed plenty of potential, recording 7.5 tackles (7 solo), and an interception. Despite his smaller size, Flaherty played with great physicality, and he often served as the last line of defense to stop the ball-carriers from breaking off long runs. His interception came off an excellent adjustment, in which he was running down the middle of the field, and cut back vertically to undercut the ball and pick it off. Flaherty should see a lot more playing time heading into his senior year with how well he played in the regular season finale.

Harlan Community punched their ticket into the playoffs on the heels of a 4 game winning streak. In their latest win over Knoxville, senior Spencer Fink, who hasn't played much this season, saw an increased amount of playing time. He shined in the win, recording 6.5 tackles (6 solo), and an interception. Fink played mostly in the second half, but he played well shifting as the deep solo Safety, and his interception came on an errant throw over the middle seam. Fink could see more playing time during the postseason as Harlan goes on the road this week to take on Algona.

While Center Point-Urbana was cooked on the road against Independence, Carter Andrews finished off what has been a strong senior campaign fairly well, recording 4 tackles (All solo) and his first interception of the entire season in the loss. Andrews is a sure tackler, difficult to drive back, and he doesn't allow much for extra yardage, and Andrews was able to deliver with a perfectly-timed jump for a pick on Independence. Andrews has been a solid all-purpose threat for Center Point-Urbana this season, who's size and versatility could make him an underrated prospect that remains unsigned currently.

Colton Sawyer's impact for Central DeWitt's defense came in the run-defense rather than in pass-coverage, but in the loss to West Delaware he played impressively well. Sawyer racked up 7.5 tackles, 2 TFLs, and 0.5 a sack in the loss. Sawyer played very well against the run, getting off his blocks well and attacking the right angles to get to the RB, while also enforcing pressure blitzing from the DB role on West Delaware's offense. Sawyer's blitzing ability has made him effective in close-range, and that could suit him well as a Nickel defender moving forward.
