Today we will be taking a look at some players that might be flying under the radar but were able to step up and turn some heads this past week. These are the players that you should get familiar with and who need to be added to the radar moving forward.    Despite Pueblo County's loss, Horton was a force on defense, showcasing his ability to dominate near the line of scrimmage. The linebacker recorded nine solo tackles, six assisted tackles, and two tackles for loss, creating havoc throughout the game. Horton's ability to read plays and get into the trenches was crucial, as he consistently stuffed the run and disrupted the opposing offense's rhythm. His physicality and quickness helped Pueblo County remain competitive, even in defeat. Horton's high motor and awareness allowed him to make impactful plays, showing leadership and determination. His tenacity at the line of scrimmage made him a constant presence in the backfield, making life difficult for the opposing offense.     Jones displayed excellent vision and hustle, flying all over the field in a dominant defensive performance. With two solo tackles, nine assisted tackles, three tackles for loss, and one quarterback hurry, Jones was instrumental in containing the opposing offense. His ability to break through the line and get into the backfield showed his football IQ and relentless pursuit of the ball carrier. Jones also excelled in rallying to the football, getting in on plays and ensuring Rangeview's defense stayed aggressive. His speed and anticipation were key to his disruptive presence, helping keep the game competitive on the defensive side.     Reyna had a well-rounded performance, playing a pivotal role on defense. The linebacker finished the game with five solo tackles, five assisted tackles, two tackles for loss, one quarterback hurry, and one interception. Reyna's ability to stuff the run behind the line of scrimmage showed his physicality and awareness. His interception further highlighted his versatility and playmaking skills, as he proved to be a threat in both the run and pass defense. Reyna's instincts allowed him to rally to the football, making sure he was in on key plays throughout the game, helping his team control the tempo defensively.     Abagulum was a consistent disruptor, excelling in getting into the backfield and shutting down the run. The defensive lineman recorded one solo tackle, nine assisted tackles, one tackle for loss, and one sack, proving to be a steady force on the line. Abagulum's ability to penetrate the offensive line and apply pressure made life difficult for the opposing team's offense. His speed and quickness allowed him to not only get in on tackles but also finish plays with a key sack. Abagulum's presence in the backfield and contribution to the defense were vital in containing the run and pressuring the quarterback.     Although Evergreen fell short in their game, Mauro's performance on defense was outstanding. The linebacker had seven solo tackles, three assisted tackles, one tackle for loss, one quarterback hurry, and an interception returned for a touchdown. Mauro's ability to be involved in every aspect of the defense made him a game-changer, even in defeat. His interception and subsequent return for a score demonstrated his athleticism and vision, while his relentless tackling showcased his physicality. Mauro's impact in the open field, near the line of scrimmage, and in pass defense made him a vital player for Evergreen throughout the game.     Groetken was a player that was able to standout, making plays all over the field. The linebacker tallied five solo tackles, four assisted tackles, one tackle for loss, and an interception, showcasing his ability to impact the game at multiple levels. Groetken excelled in open-field tackles, rallying to the ball carrier and preventing big plays. His interception further highlighted his awareness and athleticism, showing he can contribute both in run defense and pass coverage. Groetken's ability to corral runners near the line of scrimmage and make key tackles made him a critical part of The Academy's defensive efforts.
