MYRTLE BEACH | Hough has spent the early part of the season showing everyone how dangerous its passing game could be.

On Friday at Carolina Forest, the Huskies let their two primary tailbacks remind us they could still run the ball, too.

[player_tooltip player_id='905224' first='Jycen' last='Anciso'] rushed for 126 yards and two touchdowns while Jamison Funderburk had 62 yards and two scores of his own en route to a 41-0 win nearly four hours from home.

“We can still run that rock at any time. We've got the best running back room in the state, I think,” Anciso said before shrugging off any concerns tied to a long travel day prior to kickoff. “We try to lock in when we we're getting close [to road games]. We're all family. We try to have a good time until we get here. When we get here, we're straight business.”

The two backs put up all those yards and touchdowns on just 23 combined carries. And while Hough had already started to make them the focal point in the first half, Funderburk and Anciso (pictured) were dominant during a third quarter in which the Huskies went from a seven-point advantage to a four-touchdown one.

They each reached the end zone in the frame, and Funderburk scored again 100 seconds into the fourth quarter to push Hough to a 35-0 lead.

It was a little change of pace for a squad that threw for 761 yards combined during its first two games of the year. Some of that could be attributed to Carolina Forest forcing four turnovers, including three prior to halftime.

Two of those were [player_tooltip player_id='371459' first='Trey' last='Blakeney'] interceptions - one into the hands of Carson Kwant on a tipped ball into the end zone and another one that [player_tooltip player_id='1149045' first='Charles' last='McCray'] plucked out of the air - but Blankeney's final throw of the night was a beauty. He connected with [player_tooltip player_id='1303790' first='Sean' last='Brady'] on a perfect 30-yard post pattern that Brady caught in stride for the score during that blistering third quarter.

That was some of the flash Hough fans have gotten used to early this season. However, steady rains and the tailbacks' success was much more important, especially when the Huskies needed to get themselves back under control.

OTHER HOUGH STANDOUTS

Huskies punter and kicker Kandler Happe showed off his huge leg during pregame, when he was consistently connecting on 47-yard practice shots with ease. Then, he topped with it a beauty of a 54-yard punt that pinned Carolina Forest deep in its own territory.

He also put all seven of his kickoffs into the end zone and made all five of his extra point attempts.

The Hough defense also seemingly took turns making big play after big play.

Linebackers Ayden Bell, Edward Conover and [player_tooltip player_id='1551671' first='Cameron' last='Cyr'] were both active early, as was junior defensive tackle [player_tooltip player_id='284088' first='Chris' last='Hilliard']. Each of them had big hits at or behind the line of scrimmage to help prevent the Carolina Forest offense from ever really getting going.

CAROLINA FOREST NOTES

Kwant's first-half interception wasn't his only big play of the game. In addition to the batted ball interception in the end zone, he also recovered a second-quarter fumble that ended a second Hough drive inside the Panthers red zone.

Carolina Forest went all in on junior tailback [player_tooltip player_id='1148537' first='Jaryn' last='Fox'] on Friday. The reasoning was pretty clear. [player_tooltip player_id='1149046' first='Chris' last='Livingston'] - who was expected to share the workload for much of the season - was kept out of the game after suffering an ankle injury last week in the tie against Hartsville.

Fox got each of the team's first 15 designed carries (quarterback Patrick Mullen did get credit on a botched snap).

Fox finished with a 17 carries but could only muster 35 yards.
