Jycen Anciso
About Jycen
Expert Analysis
Matt Morrow | Prep Redzone Scout
Jycen can play just about anywhere on offense – he excels as a running back, an H-Back, and a wide receiver most prominently. Jycen as a back gets north/south very well and has good vision. He is an excellent receiver out of the backfield, often getting important catches that move the chains for first downs. He was Team Offensive MVP last season. Jycen has proven to be very valuable this season as well, leading a talented Huskies team into the state playoffs as a high overall seed in the 4A West bracket.

Jycen truly did it all in this game for the Huskies from a variety of spots. He lined up in the backfield and ran inside and outside zone, he caught passes in the flat from the backfield and from an H-Back position, and he helped out in run blocking for his teammates as well. Jycen does a great job as a receiver,.showing excellent hands and no wasted motion – as soon as he secures the catch he is immediately upfield and gaining as much yardage as possible. Jycen is the same way as a runner, north/south with no wasted motion. His catches were essential in getting first downs and keeping the offense on schedule.

Anciso has an excellent combination of size, speed and vision, giving him home run potential, something he showed often last year. He’s an excellent receiver who actually caught more passes than he had rushing attempts as a junior. The raw numbers aren’t quite there, but if he has a bigger role in 2024, he could rocket up our rankings and college recruiting boards after averaging eight yards a rush and 16 yards a catch last season.
