3.5 GPA

Big body lining up opposite of [player_tooltip player_id='1181865' first='Stanley' last='Montgomery']. Up an inch and ten pounds since his sophomore playing weight. Didn't make our rankings this last update because of a lack of tape. Still nothing from this year on Hudl which is a shame, yet I did like some of what I saw against Cardinal O'Hara. Rare case where I think Brown was a bit more impressive in pass-pro sets than he was as a run blocker, this after watching him perform up close while aligned at the right tackle position. Brown has a ways to go for me to stamp him, size and a good GPA aren't enough. Substantial tape on Hudl will need to unveil itself at some point. I think Brown can take away quality reps from this one, despite the loss.

Very pleased with [player_tooltip player_id='1159320' first='Tristan' last='Laing']'s performance. Laing was one of the main reasons I can't scream [player_tooltip player_id='1431845' first='Nafiq' last='Brown']'s praises as much as I'd like to. Laing, along with other O'Hara IDLs, were shutting down runs and closing gaps as soon as they appeared. 6'1, 230, good lateral movement inside the gaps, good hand-fighting when against Ryan's tackles. Moves around bodies better than one would expect, this a must considering Laing isn't 250-260 pounds in the trenches. Would get out of his stance, pop/shock OL, and shed with his eyes set on the ball carrier. Numerous would-be big gains were shut down by Laing, who flexed enough power to bring down some backs with one arm alone. Laing's prowess comes at the defensive side of the football, if the junior is to be recruited to play ball at the next level, IDL is where his future home likely will be. This because of his build. Don't get it twisted, Laing also provides right guard reps. Can get out of his stance and pull, can get his backside in the hole and steer away defenders. His nimble feet translate over to the offensive side of the ball. More games like this and he's going to find himself ranking well among other DL in the state. I'm adamant that he pays more attention to his Hudl uploads.

I speak about [player_tooltip player_id='1155853' first='Fode' last='Wilks'], [player_tooltip player_id='388172' first='Jalen' last='Patterson'], and [player_tooltip player_id='598931' first='Khalil' last='Epps'] a ton. These three come up anytime I talk about O'Hara football in my circles. I might need to add skill player and wideout Logam Maloney to that list, I might need to add him to our rankings as well. Late in the process, as Maloney is three weeks into his senior year, this doesn't mean I can't plug his name a bit, especially after the game he put forth against Ryan this past Saturday. At least five catches, at least 8 targets, Maloney ended up leading all receivers in terms of yardage in this one. Maloney was on the receiving end of a Welde bomb, streaking past a good DB in Spinelli. Maloney would catch screens, curls, he was separating well against good competition. This week's tape should be on Hudl as soon as possible, if he cares about possibly playing football at the next level. Was one of the better surprises this past weekend.

A young man whose build would catch my eye the minute he stepped onto the turf. I thought I was familiar with all Cardinal O'Hara had to offer in terms of prospects. This senior OLB/EDGE slipped through the cracks. 6'3, 215 pounds, [player_tooltip player_id='1431855' first='Ishane' last='McEwan'] boasts great limb length. Long arms that could scratch his knees standing up, McEwan provides speed, bend, and athleticism off the edge. A coveted style of pass-rusher, not every PCL team has the luxury of deploying a kid like this off the edge. McEwan got home on one rush, recording a sack of the nimble-footed [player_tooltip player_id='599053' first='Frankie' last='Mawson']. When McEwan wasn't applying pressure on passing downs, he was popping the pads of his matchup and shedding well. A good get-off usually leaves tackles off-balance, once McEwan would read the run, he'd pop and shed inside to make stops before they reached the second level. Easily a name I'll be sending to PSAC coaches recruiting Philadelphia. There might be more to unlock here as well. Can't go without mentioning that it might be worth exploring McEwan at tight end too, at this level or the next.

The undisputed vocal leader of this defense. [player_tooltip player_id='1431856' first='Christon' last='Mitchell-Brown'] is well on his way to ranking inside the Top300, this being huge praise considering many prospects inside that threshold have received division one grades out of me. I won't project where CMB will play in the future, not until I can sit down and look at a full season's worth of tape. I will say, however, his performance against Cardinal O'Hara has him trending in the right direction. Counter at least 4-5 solo tackles, had to have racked up at least ten total tackles in this one, this from his ILB pre-snap alignment. Good build, looks like a back at times, especially when moving laterally, has experience playing RB as well. His future lies on the defensive side of the field. Can R&R to plays to the flat in a flash, is a great mover from hash to hash, far from a hesitant player, CMB isn't a thinker out there, he's a “see it, chase it” type of back. Recorded a TFL in this one, as well as a forced fumble if my memory serves me right. A frame capable of delivering and sustaining hits, Mitchell-Brown was unafraid to meet anyone between the b-gaps, love this kids temperament. Excited to plug in his tape each week.

[player_tooltip player_id='1431860' first='Danny' last='Celins'] provided two-way snaps in this one. Can align at TE/WR, can be split out beside ABR's skill guys. Served as the pass-rusher/DE opposite [player_tooltip player_id='1181865' first='Stanley' last='Montgomery'] as well. Ceilins could have put forth a better performance, his tape against O'Hara isn't going to blow anyone away, yet he's still a name I want to stash for the future. Great size, kid sticks out like a sore thumb when you spot him on the turf. Was warming up with the quarterbacks a bit, so you can get the gist that this is an athlete who can help a program win in a myriad of ways. Finding out what his strong suit is is a must. Can Celins develop into a serious disruptor off the edge? Can Celins serve as a big target to throw to at TE? Maybe OLB or QB? There's something here to be unlocked. What's good, Celins is still a junior with some time to figure things out. He doesn't have a lot of time, though. I'll stash his name for now. Profile created.

[player_tooltip player_id='599444' first='Corey' last='DeMas'] is a skill player who primaries at DB, one who is currently on our Watch List. Tasked with holding off the likes of Wilks, Epps, and [player_tooltip player_id='647286' first='John' last='Welde'], [player_tooltip player_id='599444' first='Corey' last='DeMas'] put together a solid performance from his safety spot. I think some coverage reps could have provided better outcomes, yet DeMas still managed to be in and around a couple of O'Hara turnovers. DeMas was the direct impacter after skying for an interception in this games first half. Dramas' play was able to completely halt all momentum built up by O'Hara at the time. DeMas was also the one to pick up a muffed punt by O'Hara. A couple more PBUs recorded as well. Like I said above, there were some coverage breaks that need to be cleaned up, yet overall I like the game DeMas put forth this past weekend. More of this, more tape on Hudl and he'll be repped on our site in no time (DB).
