[player_tooltip player_id='1430558' first='Aven' last='Shirley']'s Week Zero stat line caught my attention. 7 receptions, 90 yards, 8 tackles, a great all-around contribution out of the junior two-way athlete. Not to mention Shirley's 80-yard kickoff return to open the night. Against Knoch HS, Shirley's reps in run support from his safety alignment excited me more than anything. The splash plays are great, yet watching Shirley come down after reading passes to the flat, square up and make 1v1 open-field tackles had me impressed. More tape like this and he'll be a lock to land on our ranks. Solid size that allows him to contribute both as a wideout and DB, Shirley is a piece to the winning puzzle over at Kiski Area. Shirley served as a safe target for Heinle to throw to against Hempfield Area as well, reeling in a couple of catches, one that went for a score. Shirley is capable of affecting the game at all three facets, fun player to watch and uncover. I'll be keeping an eye out for tape each week.

In contrast, what is great is Weishaar's first-three tape on Hudl. Said first-three fully encompass the Penn-Trafford senior's highlights from games against Moon Area, Mt. Lebanon, Norwin, and Shaler Area (scrimmage). Finds success attacking the middle of the field, is unafraid to attack the middle and serve as a target on in-breaking routes. Thoughtful and aware DB reps on tape. Tough at the catch point. Could be an offensive weapon that PT features. Screens, comebacks, posts, Weishaar is likely winning over coaches trust, if he hasn't done so already. Trust to run any route at any level of the field. Expect disciplined play when stationed at DB, expect anything when deployed on offense. If the passing game heats up, I could see Weishaar post a ten-catch game on Hudl before the season ends. Would love to learn more about the young man moving forward.

Stands anywhere between 6'1-6'3. A whopping 300 pounds, kid is massive on the turf. Has experience playing in the trenches, center or guard capable. Coaches might find his experience and size intriguing, might be a prospect to mold. Despite us being three games into the season, I can't find any new tape out of West Philly's [player_tooltip player_id='1430565' first='Justin' last='Brown']. What's good, Brown has junior tape that somehow slipped through my grasp this offseason. Said tape would have likely placed Brown on our rankings, he's in-line for a spot this coming update. Not a sloppy 300-pounder, lot of mass on this kid but he isn't necessarily spilling out of his jersey. I can tell from tape that Brown has a good understanding of his assignments, pre and post snap. I can tell Brown takes in coaching, there's solid tech post-snap in pass-pro sets as well as run-blo sets. Brown's tape is missing violence. Brown will make our ranks, yet he'd demand/force my hand if he showed off a mean streak. Brown strikes well with his hands, Brown sustains blocks well too because he's such a hard body to move. I want to see Brown dominate smaller competition on a consistent basis, I want to see Brown get his pads a bit lower and drive kids to the fences over at West Philly. Brown looks to be capable at times, consistent aggression, finishing ability, and attitude would make him one of the easier sells the Public League has to offer. Good player.

Evaluated Lucas's two games against Armstrong and Elizabeth Forward. Good size, 6,2, 200 pounds. Overall game reminds me a ton of two-way Lower Merion star Mekhai Smith, who is currently playing ball at Lehigh University. Smith was a dual-threat passer with a promising future at safety at the next level. I won't project Lucas to the FCS level, Lucas is a current senior without any offers to his name, so a Division One grade would be hard to come by. This all being said, Lucas is looking like an FCS prospect through two games this year. Safety reps, dual-threat capabilities when aligned behind center at QB. As electric a playmaker as you can find. Can turn broken plays into positive ones, Lucas' improvisational skills are his calling card. Uber-athletic, is witnessed making much smaller prospects miss in the open field. Can break tackles with lateral agility, power, can high step to avoid getting shoe-string tackled. Kid is a menace in the open field, Lucas proves it by turning first-downs into 40+ yard gains. Lucas would rank as a QB, yet it's likely a college would bring him in to play LB/DB/TE. Lucas can produce at the HS ranks behind center, the kid flashes serious arm talent when he has the pocket to step into throws. Lucas can uncork the football and let rockets loose downfield, although I struggle with the projection that he can be decisive with the ball in his hands. Not enough on tape to deem Lucas a passer who can carve up a defense with his arm, he sure can with his legs, all the while forcing defenses to honor his ability to hit streaks down the sideline. Intrigued as to whether or not PSAC coaches are in on this kid, will be actively spreading his name about.

Kiski Area's [player_tooltip player_id='1430573' first='Landon' last='Kucic']'s game against Knoch put him on my radar. Kucic's accolade should have placed him on my radar last Fall if I'm being honest. Unsure how I let 11 sacks, 11 scores, and 800+ rushing yards slip through the cracks, yet here we are. Here we are, with Kucic rushing for 180+ rushing yards in a win over Knoch on Week Zero. Kucic would rack up four scores on the same night as well. After hearing of the senior's extraordinary opening night, I decided to take a peek at the rest of his catalog on Hudl (Hempfield Area & Norwin). No bursts of 150+ yard games, yet Kucic's last two weeks still provide quality reps. Two scores, six total through three weeks. Impressive defensive reps too, would rank as an "ATH". Wouldn't mind sharing his name with a few PSAC coaches in the area if they happen to be unfamiliar. When evaluating two-way RB/LBs, I usually defer to the defensive side of the football when projecting future position. When it comes to Kucic, I wouldn't be surprised to see a college recruit Kucic to play back at the next level, despite his frame suggesting he's a fit at backer. Excited to get him represented.

Twin brother [player_tooltip player_id='1131285' first='Jacob' last='Zietz'] has landed on our ranks each of the last two updates. Yet somehow, I managed to miss Isaac's skills despite posting junior tape back in April. 6'0, 180 pounds, can double as a DB on defense, the General McLane quarterback was able to tear through a New Castle defense, utilizing both his arm and legs. Good accuracy on touchdown throws to a seam route in the middle of the field, great touch and timing on a corner route that went for a score as well. Love Zietz's command of the offense after watching his Harbor Creek tape. There are a lot of ways General McLane can hit a defense, Zietz can be the distributor or playmaker with each passing rep. Zietz can tuck and run for yards, or create other-wise non-existent passing lanes by scrambling out of the pocket. Zietz can also catch the snap and quickly get rid of the football to the primary receiver, he is also willing to throw jump balls to his twin brother, with Jacob often reeling in these 50/50 opportunities. Fun player to watch.
