Get 30% off your first billing cycle with code: OscarGalindo30 in the coupon code area.

The second week of the regular season saw me venture out to Millard South as they hosted rival Millard West for the latest installment of the "Battle for Q Street." Fresh off a loss to Arizona's Basha Bears, the Millard South Patriots wasted no time asserting their dominance back in Nebraska with a 56-0 win over the Wildcats. The Wildcats struggled to get going offensively against a staunch South defense that provided consistent pressure at the line of scrimmage and tight coverage. Millard South QB [player_tooltip player_id='476963' first='Jett' last='Thomalla'] lit up the Thursday night sky with 395 passing yards and six passing touchdowns. His top receiver was Florida State commit [player_tooltip player_id='319200' first='Chase' last='Loftin'], who led the game with five receptions for 111 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns.

To highlight uncommitted prospects, I omitted Florida State commit [player_tooltip player_id='319200' first='Chase' last='Loftin'] and Air Force commit [player_tooltip player_id='245848' first='Adam' last='Pugh'], who both had great games and would have earned standout honors. Here are my standout players from the game.

Player of the Game:

Millard South 2026 QB - [player_tooltip player_id='476963' first='Jett' last='Thomalla']

[player_tooltip player_id='476963' first='Jett' last='Thomalla'], 2026 - QB - Millard South - 6'4" 195 lbs

Hudl | Twitter

- A dominant performance for junior QB [player_tooltip player_id='476963' first='Jett' last='Thomalla'], who completed 22 of 31 pass attempts for 395 yards and six passing touchdowns for a QB rating of 139.4. Thomalla threw touchdown passes to four different receivers.

- The biggest thing that stands out about Jett is his ability to read and pick apart defenses. He's very efficient when working through his progressions and knows how to manipulate defenders to create opportunities for his receivers.

- Very accurate. He displayed excellent touch and ball placement on several of his passes. Thomalla also does a good job leading his receivers open with his placement.

- Good mobility. Jett does a great job keeping his feet moving in the pocket and can sidestep defenders when he senses pressure coming. He can extend plays with his legs.

- Somebody needs to offer ASAP!!

Notable Players:

Millard South 2025 WR/ATH - [player_tooltip player_id='318990' first='Aamir' last='Hill']

[player_tooltip player_id='318990' first='Aamir' last='Hill'], 2025 - WR/ATH - Millard South - 5'8" 150 lbs

Hudl | Twitter

- Senior [player_tooltip player_id='318990' first='Aamir' last='Hill'] is a player who was high on my "breakout" candidates list, and he showed why against Millard West with 3 catches for 52 yards and two touchdowns.

- A good chunk of Hill's yardage came on quick screen plays where he received the ball with space in front of him and used his quick twitch and agility to make defenders miss in open space.

- His great vision also helps him navigate through defenses and find open lanes.

- Great hands. Strong through contact and can make tough catches in traffic.

[player_tooltip player_id='1085067' first='Matt' last='Erickson'], 2027 - Millard West - 6'8" 280 lbs

Hudl | Twitter

- Erickson enters his sophomore season already holding a Power 4 offer from the hometown Huskers and can likely add more before the season's end.

- At 6'8" and 285 pounds, Erickson is a massive mauler with the size, length, and power to develop into one of the more dominant linemen in the state.

- There was still a bit of rawness that flashed out of Erickson as he battled with a tough defensive line, but he showed that he can maintain his blocks very well with a powerful base that allows him to anchor down and sit on a defender when engaged.

- He will also take you for a ride if you allow him to gain inside leverage as he holds the strength to overpower defenders and drive them into the ground.

- Excited to see more of Erickson as he continues to develop in the upcoming seasons.

Millard South 2026 TE - [player_tooltip player_id='487573' first='Isaac' last='Jensen']

[player_tooltip player_id='487573' first='Isaac' last='Jensen'], 2026 - TE - Millard South - 6'6" 215 lbs

Hudl | Twitter

- The 3-star prospect continues to show why he is one of the fastest-rising TE prospects in the Midwest. Isaac looked to be Jett's favorite target as he led the team in receptions with six and recorded 88 yards and a receiving touchdown.

- Jensen's size and athleticism make him a nightmare to try and scheme against and even harder to match up against physically. At 6'6", Jensen towers over most defenders while doing an excellent job using his frame to box out defenders and can elevate over them when high pointing the ball.

- Very sharp route runner as well. Jensen looks very fluid moving through his route and can create separation from defenders.

- Jensen holds offers from Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa State, Florida State, Texas A&M, Missouri, and Kansas State.

Millard South 2025 LB - [player_tooltip player_id='319192' first='Dylan' last='Kuhl']

[player_tooltip player_id='319192' first='Dylan' last='Kuhl'], 2025 - LB - Millard South - 6'0" 195 lbs

Hudl | Twitter

- Dylan burst onto the scene after a monster junior season in which he proved to be dynamic playmaker who can even put up points coming from the defensive side of the ball.

- Kuhl had a great game in which he finished with 8 tackles, 3 TFLs, and a sack while making an impact that went beyond the stats.

- Watching Dylan play, I was really impressed with his speed and range on the field. He plays at one speed, and that's full-throttle from start to finish. He can fly downhill just as easily as he can drop back to float around in coverage while flowing from sideline to sideline.

- Dylan is especially effective against the run, where he does an excellent job reading his keys and filling in gaps. One thing that he does very well here is making sure to stay clean from blockers so that he can keep himself in play to make the stop.

- Another player who should have some offers by now. Don't sleep!

Make sure to follow @PRZ_OscarG for more news on Nebraska and Iowa HS recruiting.
