Before our attention shifts toward Week 3, there's still some more Game Balls to be given out from Week 2's action. Defensive backs across the state were relied on heavily in the second week of the season, as there were multiple high scoring contests. Some DB's unfortunately were on the wrong side of these high scoring affairs, but others stepped up in a big way for their respective teams. Here's a look at five of the top performances from the secondary during Week 2.

Blue Valley Northwest's defense was stout in their Week 2 win over Shawnee Mission Northwest. Joseph Arnold's play at corner contributed to the Huskies limiting the Cougars to just 7 points. Although he wasn't tested much in the air, Arnold did make an impact defending the run. His final numbers were six total tackles, two tackles for loss, and one forced fumble.

Standout defensive back, [player_tooltip player_id='466348' first='Brandon' last='Wilson'], typically garners the most attention when it comes to Shawnee Mission West football. But in Week 2, senior [player_tooltip player_id='1462644' first='Davis' last='Robinson'] stole the show in the Vikings' victory over Lincoln College Prep (MO). Robinson collected three total tackles and two interceptions, with one being returned for a score. He also finished the night with a punt return for a touchdown.

[player_tooltip player_id='1306210' first='Angelo' last='Keuwo'] was a player we previewed during our preseason coverage, and in that particular report his playmaking ability was specifically highlighted. Well, it was on full display in Blue Valley Southwest's come from behind victory against Bishop Miege. Keuwo put together an outstanding two-way performance. His offensive numbers were deserving of a Game Ball, but he came up with a couple game altering plays at safety. Keuwo recorded three total tackles and one of his two interceptions sealed the deal for the Timberwolves.

[player_tooltip player_id='1462646' first='Jaylin' last='Washington'] - Washington, 6'3”, 165, Unranked

The fourth Game Ball of this group goes to a promising safety from the Meadowlark Conference. [player_tooltip player_id='1462646' first='Jaylin' last='Washington'] helped the 2-0 Washington Wildcats hold the Bishop Ward Cyclones to just 12 points during Week 2. Washington had three total tackles on the night and was a ballhawk in the back end of the Wildcats' defense. He picked off two passes and took one to the house. The 6-foot-3 junior racked up over 100 interception return yards.

Our final Game Ball for Week 2 goes to [player_tooltip player_id='1462648' first='Brody' last='Schroeder'] of Hodgeman County. The 8-Man ranks can be an entertaining classification to cover. Players from there typically produce some unreal stat lines, and that's exactly what Schroeder had in Week 2. The sophomore had four defensive touchdowns in the Longhorns' big win, as he took a pair of interceptions and fumble recoveries to the promise land.
