Jack Gullett matched his interception total from last season in week 3 against Missouri Valley, finishing the game with 2 interceptions along with 5.5 tackles. Gullett did a great job throughout the night as the Free Safety covering his deep-half zone. Gullett read the QB well and often forced the QB to make a poor throw that resulted in Gullett getting the ball. Gullett's brilliant coverage helped the Raiders shut down Missouri Valley at home to get their first win of the season, and Gullett will look to continue helping the team win this season.

While Manson-NW Webster came just short against MVAOCOU this week, Matt Condon was brilliant in all three aspects of the game. He recorded 6.5 tackles and 2 interceptions on the secondary, while adding 4 catches for 61 yards on offense and a kick-return touchdown. Condon already has 3 interceptions to start the season, and he's clearly been developing as a dynamic all-purpose standout for the Cougars. Condon should enjoy an extremely productive senior season with how he's been playing to start the year.

On the other side of the game for Manson-NW Webster, the MVAOCOU Rams witnessed a breakout performance for a freshman DB in [player_tooltip player_id='1904008' first='Jake' last='Scott']. Scott recorded 4 tackles and 2 interceptions as they proved to be key difference-makers in the close win. Scott has a tall, bulky upper body frame with solid length, and while he started the season initially at LB, he's done great switching up into a Safety role, and he did a good job on Friday night in reading the QB and understanding his zone-coverage roles. Scott is a promising young prospect to watch as the Rams continue to be a team on the rise in 2024.

[player_tooltip player_id='1370666' first='Aaron' last='Honore'] played a key part on Friday night as Mediapolis struggled to get anything going in the passing-game against Regina's secondary. Honore would finish the game with 5.5 tackles and an interception. His pick came on a perfectly-timed jump from underneath a deep-seam route, and he returned the pick down the sideline 52 yards. Honore is a tough tackler, and he proved suitable against the Bulldogs in both the run-game and as a gunner on kickoff-duties. Honore continues to grow as a strong athlete prospect in Iowa for the class of 2026.

Another star that emerged in East Sac County's rout on homecoming was sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1506387' first='Carson' last='Schmitt']. A short, but speedy athlete, Schmitt finished the night with 11 tackles (10 solo) and 2 TFLs. Schmitt proved to be solid in coverage and in slowing down the run-game as he had his most productive night of the season so far defensively. He's also shown glimpses of excellence as an all-purpose back, producing 53 yards of offense on just 7 total touches on Friday night. Schmitt will be an intriguing young stud to watch for the Raiders moving forward, and he could grow into a top athlete prospect heading into the offseason.

Drew Sundine has been making a big impact for Hudson this season as a WR and as the team's Punter, but his performance in week 3 marked a breakthrough this season at DB. Sundine finished the game with 5 tackles and an interception, while also adding a 73 yard touchdown reception. Sundine is a long, lean athlete with great speed, and he's proven to be a dynamic playmaker for the Pirates. Sundine has helped contribute to Hudson's 3-0 start, and he looks to continue making splashes in his senior season.
