Virginia QBs to Watch in the 2024 Season

Good post-snap processing, visibility reading his progressions, and operating quickly in the pocket. He displays a strong arm to fit the ball into tight windows and can make short, intermediate, and deep throws with good accuracy. He has elite height and a very good frame. Shows good footwork in the pocket and good pocket mobility. Shows good poise in the pocket under pressure, stepping into his throws as the rush closes in. Solid accuracy and ball placement on his throws, with a strong arm to zip it beyond past the DB. Operates quickly in his pass set, with quick feet, scanning the field to find the open receiver. Has solid arm strength and accuracy as a passer, and can throw the ball 40+ yards. Very good as a ball carrier, showing the speed and quickness to weave through traffic and force missed tackles. He has very good height and frame. An accurate passer, who can place the ball away from defenders and lead receivers in their routes. Has a strong arm, able to zip the ball in tight windows, and throws a solid deep ball. I attended one of his games last season, and I came away highly impressed with his toughness at the position in a <a href="https://prepredzone.com/2023/09/game-report-jefferson-forest-vs-heritage-game-report/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">hard-fought contest</a> against district rival Jefferson Forest. He is utilized in rollout passes and designed QB runs to take advantage of his athleticism. He can also sit in the pocket and deliver an accurate pass to his wide receivers. He also contributes on defense as a DB for Heritage and that is why we classified him as an ATH in our rankings. Powhatan already has a high-powered offense, and Elliott will be bringing his dual-threat ability to the mix. He can make throws on all levels of the field, displays solid accuracy and good pocket mobility to keep the play alive.
