GRAND FORKS-- We take a deep dive look at the Gunslingers that popped out in our notebook of standouts from second UND Flagship Camp as we found quarterbacks from four different states that rose the occasion in the Forks.

Brogan was a 2026 quarterback that was the first "eye test" prospect I gathered into my notebook in Grand Forks and I was quite surprised that this young man is just going to be a junior. He impressed me with his intermediate route throws at UND, as Brogan was proficient with his touch throws and is one that certainly showed out with his ball placement on his throws too in Grand Forks. Brogan I feel has great upside in further developing his arm strength, but man do I love the drop in this kid's ball when he attacks deep. In my eyes, Brogan looks like a Division I prospect that would be a great fit in the Missouri Valley Football Conference.

It seems like Missouri quarterbacks popped out early in my notebook, as Liberty North 2025 quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='590658' first='Tillman' last='Martin'] was another one on my radar early in Grand Forks. Tilman popped out early with his change of direction, which when I watched his footwork later in drills you could engage the dexterity this young man has with his great footwork and you see flourish with his release. Tillman showed off highly ideal precision in the throws I watched at the UND Flagship Camp and throws the ball with sound fluidity with his sound mechanics. Another Missouri quarterback that excels on intermediate and especially deep routes. I would have offered this young man if I was a recruiter at the UND Flagship Camp for sure as he is way too under the radar playing for one of Missouri powerhouse programs.

Hunter was a name in Grand Forks that was lightly on my radar out of my favorite area to travel in Minnesota that showed off some good versatility in his live-eval. No doubt this young man has position flexibility at the next-level. His athleticism he showed off at the UND Flagship Camp was fun to watch and I cannot say enough about this young man's charcter too as he was impressive to interview briefly. On tape, Hunter shows off his arm talent on all three-levels as you can tell he factors in his arm strength based on the throws he is able to make to give his wide receivers a window to catch and go with his precision. He also shows great poise in the pocket and it seems whichever end of the field he lines up on he shows game-changer capability as I could see him as a free safety too at the next level. He has picked up some great steam in the MIAC as of recently too on his recruiting trail.

Kolbe Volkmer, QB, Lincoln Pius X, NE 2025 Twitter

Another early eye test quarterback that stood out early in Grand Forks was Lincoln Pius X 2025 quarterback Kolbe Volkmer. The very recent Wayne State commit showed off great footwork for his 6'4 230 pound frame in the reps I got to watch out of the quarterback group. Kolbe was one quarterback that I liked his football IQ as he just had a quick knack for knowing where to go with the football and certainly has the outstanding arm strength and great technique to finish his throws with plenty of pop on the ball on every level of the field. In my eyes, the Wildcats unleashed a steal out of Lincoln.

Preston is a 2025 quarterback out of Champlin Park that I have enjoyed watching his growth from Spring to Summer at camps, as at an earlier camp I thought he was one of the more polished yet under-recruited quarterbacks in the last camp, and the same goes for his live-eval up in Grand Forks. You never have to worry about arm strength with this young man, and I thought some of the ball placements Preston made in 1v1 reps contributed to how much better he has gotten this summer with his precision. He has picked up plenty of steam this summer on our Prep Hoops circuit, and I love from my eyes that he likely is stockriser from multiple sets of eyes in two-sports all in the same summer as Preston holds one NSIC football offer at the moment and I would expect his football recruitment to pick up in the coming months with all the athleticism and the fiery release this young man offers.

Hudsen Sheldon, QB, Mandan, ND 2025 Twitter

A North Dakota 2025 quarterback prospect I wish I had on my radar sooner is Mandan's Hudsen Sheldon, who had a big day at the UND Flagship Camp getting his first FCS offer. I had Hudsen circled in my notebook multiple times as he showed off an excellent quick release in the reps he was given and although it sounds repetitive in this list of gunslingers, he rocked the boat with his constantly precise ball placement. His elusivness outside of the pocket certainly is intriguing on tape, as he doesn't seem to loose one ounce of arm strength throwing from the run. Broke a school record for passing yards as a junior for the Braves and I would expect a heck of a senior season for Hudsen who will be one of the biggest risers you see upcoming in our 2025 North Dakota rankings update by the end of this week.

It seems like everywhere I scout prospects whether that is 7v7 or college camps, Papio South 2026 quarterback Grant Beckenhauer seems to always catch my radar as that lays true at the UND Flagship Camp. College coaches will love hearing this young man's pro agility top number (4.25) as the 6'1 190 pounder seemed even more poised since my last live-eval inside the pocket. College coaches hopefully too have caught wind of Grant's position flexibility already at the next-level as he has showed off in 7v7 how versatile he is too.
