PRZPA Team Preview, Conestoga Valley

<p><strong>Season Outlook</strong>: Conestoga Valley had a breakthrough season last year going 9-3 on the year, including beating Dover for a PIAA Playoff win. Their season ended when they lost the following week against Cocalico, but they still had a successful season. They bring back a talented core, so a similar result would not be surprising this season. </p>   <p><strong>Current Head Coach: </strong>Jon Scepanski</p>   <p><strong>Top returning prospects for the 2024 season:</strong></p>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1317113' first='Jayden' last='Johnson'] is a playmaker who is a difference-maker every time he touches the ball. He can score anytime he touches the ball because of his elite speed. Once he gets into the open field he explodes past defenders. He also has good quickness and elusiveness in the hole. He played as a slot receiver and was often used in the run game, but also showed a good ability to catch the ball. Johnson is also a physical runner who can be hard to bring down. Johnson should be able to build off last year's success and be a big-time player for Conestoga Valley this year. He was a huge part of their success last year. He should have a good chance at playing College Football in the future. Conestoga Valley is having a break year after they beat Exeter 34-27 on Friday night to improve to 7-2 on the year. Stoltzfus is one of the biggest reasons for the success. He is starting at both offensive and defensive line and he has been dominant on both sides of the ball. He helped pave the way for 269 yards last week for Conestoga Valley. He is a talented lineman" </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1131718' first='Isaiah' last='Sensenig'] is a good player on the defensive side of the ball and showed a ton of potential on offense. On defense, he played as a safety. He showed the rare ability to play well both close to the line of scrimmage and as a deep safety. When he played close to the line of scrimmage he did a nice job of setting the edge and making plays in the run game. He also showed a good ability to drop in the flat and cover the passing game well. As a deep safety, he showed good coverage skills and when the ball was thrown in his direction he usually got his hands on it for pass breakups. In both positions, he does a good job of tackling. At wide receiver, he shows good hands, especially when making catches in traffic in between defenders. Sensenig is a good athlete who plays well on both sides of the ball. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='620245' first='Justin' last='Corson'] is a force to deal with at the defensive line. He gets off the ball quickly and puts a ton of pressure on the offense. He has a good combination of strength and athleticism. He uses his hands well to get on offensive linemen and then to rip through them. He is hard to move off his spot and when the offensive line tries to double-team him, he usually splits the double-team. He has good pass-rush moves and he knows when to use them against offensive linemen. He also has a motor that never stops. At slot receiver, he shows off some good hands. He does a good job of catching the ball in between defenders, or if the pass is low or high. He has good speed and when he gets into the open field he glides past defenders. He also has a quickness and the ability to make defenders miss. Garcia also does a good job of covering receivers. He is a good in-between-the-tackles runner. He is a physical runner who is hard to bring down. He hits the hole well, but also knows how to be patient when he hits the hole. He had good moves and does a good job of making defenders miss. He also catches the ball well out of the backfield. Ruble is a good running back in the 2026 class. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Josh Dennis has no film from last year, but he has some clips this summer from 7 on 7. He projects as a wide receiver this year for Conestoga Valley. He shows a good ability to catch the ball in traffic and does a good job catching contested catches. As an outside linebacker, he does a good job of playing in space. He reads his keys well and then does a good job in the run or pass game. He excels at dropping at the passing game and taking away passing lanes. He also showed a good ability to tackle well in the open field. At wide receiver, he played as an outside wide receiver and caught the ball in limited playing time at the position. He does a good job of firing off the ball and blocking defensive tackles. He shows good athleticism and strength. He is excellent at pulling and leading up in the run game. This is a staple of the Conestoga Valley run game and Zoll excels at it. Zoll is a good player on the interior offensive line for Conestoga Valley. </p>    <p><strong>Final Thoughts</strong>: Conestoga Valley brings back a good crew of players who won 9 games last year. They are hoping to build on that success and sustain it going forward. This year they should be good and have a chance at repeating that success. </p>   <p></p>
