PRZPA Team Preview, Cedar Crest

<p><strong>Season Outlook</strong>: Last season Cedar Crest went 8-3 and their season ended when they lost to Harrisburg in the 1st round of the PIAA Playoffs. It's still a successful season for Cedar Crest. Unfortunately, their head coach Rob Wildasin stepped down after a successful run. <em> </em>The new head coach is Nicholas Lambros who has been on staff for Cedar Crest for a while, so the transition should be seamless. </p>   <p><strong>Current Head Coach:</strong> Nicholas Lambros</p>   <p><strong>Top returning prospects for the 2024 season:</strong></p>    <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='746918' first='Jackson' last='Custer'] is a talented quarterback and a returning starter for Cedar Crest. He is woefully underrated to me as a quarterback in the 2025 class. He is also a good athlete that moves well inside and outside the pocket. He recently picked up an offer from Franklin and Marshall. I can see many other Division 2 and Division 3 programs offering him. Below is what I wrote about him earlier this year: </p>   <p>"<strong>[player_tooltip player_id='746918' first='Jackson' last='Custer']</strong> is a playmaker at quarterback at Cedar Crest. He is good at making something out of nothing for the offense. Several times he had scrambles that looked like negative plays that he turned into positive plays. Custer also shows good mechanics in the pocket. He has excellent footwork in the pocket as well. He is equally as good as a slot receiver as she is as an outside receiver. He does a good job of tracking the ball and catching the ball in between defenders. As a slot receiver, he shows a good ability to catch short passes like receiver screens and make tacklers miss. He is especially good in space making people miss. He also returned punts and did a good job of making defenders miss and using the speed to run by the punt team. Waranavage is a good prospect in the 2025 class who should get a good chance to play College Football. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/JackWar_4/status/1771667908747202780 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">Malachi Victor is a good prospect in the 2025 class who played as a wide receiver and as an outside linebacker last year. At receiver he does a good job of running routes and finding the opening in the zone He catches the ball well in traffic and is not afraid to take a hit. At an outside linebacker position, he shows the ability to play in space well. He does a good job reading his keys and then making the proper play against the run or the pass. He is a good athlete and shows good speed chasing plays all over the field. He does a good job of firing off the ball and putting pressure on the offense. He shows good strength and athleticism. He is hard to move off his spot when offensive linemen try to block him. He then shows a motor that never stops as he is chasing plays all over the field. Eisenhauer is a disruptive defensive lineman in the 2025 class. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/ceisenhauer29/status/1723543734934007942 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">Tristan Long is a load to deal with inside from his defensive tackle position. He does a great job of taking on double teams and pushing the pile backward into the offensive backfield. He is a run stuffer who doesn't allow anything in his gap. He then does a good job of making tackles in the backfield. He was almost perfect on extra points when he was 39 of 44. He has limited field goals but made 2 of 3. Going into his Senior year he should have more chances to kick field goals this season. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/EthanBowman25/status/1747130654964281611 </div></figure>     <p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='1109251' first='Landyn' last='Kline'] shows a ton of potential as a linebacker. He does a good job of reading and reacting to the play and then triggering downhill. He is excellent at getting off blocks and making tackles in the open field. Not to be outdone, he does a good job dropping in coverage and taking away passing lanes. Kline should be a big contributor for Cedar Crest this season going into his Junior year. </p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Nathanael Harbaugh played as a guard last year for Cedar Crest. He does a good job of firing off the ball and driving defenders off the ball. He is excellent in the run game by locking onto defenders and showing good strength. He also showed good athleticism and movement by moving off the ball and blocking defenders. He does an excellent job of pulling and kicking out defenders. Harbaugh should be even better this season. </p>    <p><strong>Final Thoughts: </strong>Cedar Crest has a coaching change and is in the competitive Section 1 of the Lancaster-Lebanon League, but they should still be a competitive and good team this season. They might fall back a game or two, but Cedar Crest should be a tough out each week. </p>
