Salamanca had an excellent season against Section VI Class C opponents. Their 2 regular season losses came at the hands of Class D powerhouses, Franklinville/Ellicottville and Clymer/Sherman/Panama. After the 6-2 regular season record, The Warriors entered the sectional playoffs as the #2 seed and ran through their class to a Section VI title win over #1 ranked, Medina. They then entered the state bracket where the defeated the previous 11-0 Le Roy from Section V in the Far West Regional match. They entered the final four where they were eliminated by the elite Class IV champions, Waverly Wolverines.

[player_tooltip player_id='1212861' first='Warrick' last='Kyler'] is an explosive, dominating lineman. He is an extraordinary athlete on both sides of the ball but as an OT is what made him 1st team All-State as a junior. He has ideal size at 6'6 285 lbs. and moves extremely well. Kyler will be a pivotal part to Salamanca's chance to repeat as sectional champions.

Salamanca did not throw the ball much last season but when he was called upon, [player_tooltip player_id='807872' first='Maddox' last='Isaac'] showed great athleticism as someone that can extend a play with his legs. A dual threat, Isaac is extremely difficult to defend. He is a tough hard-nosed runner but can also deliver a strike in the air. He doesn't light up the stat sheet but he will be the catalyst to the Warriors high-powered offense.

In just his freshman season, Quinten Brown proved to be a straight ahead north-south runner that is not afraid of contact. He has exceptional vision and great cutting ability. Even when he did not get the ball, Brown showed off some very good blocking techniques. Not a lot was asked of Quinten in his first varsity season but that should change this year and he should be in for a monster season.

2024 Outlook

Current Head Coach: Chad Bartoszek (Entering his 5th season)

All of Salamanca's 2024 opponents are familiar foes, however there are two that the Warriors should be weary of. Last season, Salamanca's average point differential in their wins was 16.4. But their games against Portville and Southwestern came down to the wire, with the latter going into overtime. Both of those teams are on Salamanca's schedule this year and will be looking to right their wrongs.

3 Things Going For The

An electrifying offense led by [player_tooltip player_id='807872' first='Maddox' last='Isaac'] that can put points on the board at will

A stout defense with [player_tooltip player_id='1283664' first='Zach' last='Trietley'] commanding the middle and [player_tooltip player_id='1212870' first='Cory' last='Holleran'] making plays in the defensive backfield

Top O Line prospect [player_tooltip player_id='1212861' first='Warrick' last='Kyler'] who is currently ranked #8 in NYS according to Prep RedZone

1 Area of Concern

Who will be their offensive juggernauts? Salamanca lost several weapons including their leading rusher. Will sophomore, Quinten Brown be able to carry the load? Will the Warriors be able to find receivers that can replace the likes of Carmine Hoag and Lucas Brown?

The Last Word

Class C can be hard to predict but Salamanca has a lot going for them. They have lights out defensive players, a young up-and-coming running back in Quinten Brown and their schedule is relatively beneficial to them. There are no opponents that are coming off of championship seasons and unless something out of the blue happens, I expect Salamanca to repeat as Section VI champions in Class C.
