Between scouting football and volleyball practices and scrimmages the next two weeks, I put on my “All-Deck” hat and put together multiple preseason squads.

Yesterday, I featured athletes from the class of 2025 from Class 6A and 5A schools.

Today's second edition features seniors from Class 4A and 3A programs.

I made myself a couple of rules while putting this squad together. The first rule was I selected athletes outside of my regular coverage area or players I don't think I will catch in person this fall. I chose not to include offensive and defensive linemen since those are two of the primary positions I will scout statewide during the regular season. These are 11 guys I would like to see this season but will have to do so via film.

Continue to check back on Prep Redzone for program previews and scouting reports from the rest of the Kansas scout team heading up to the first kick-off of the season.

This afternoon I will be scouting a practice at Hayden and will have a report on Wildcat prospects this evening.

[player_tooltip player_id='570171' first='Josh' last='Burdick'], QB, 6'0”, 180, Cheney

Burdick and the Cheney Cardinals hope to repeat as Class 3A State Champs. Cheney is in scout Wade Cargile's coverage area so I will miss the chance to see them play this fall. Burdick is currently ranked No. 64 overall by Prep Redzone and is the sixth-ranked quarterback. Burdick threw 37 touchdown passes as a junior and for over 2,600 yards.

[player_tooltip player_id='282253' first='Aaron' last='Tunstall'], RB, 5'8”, 170, Field Kindley

Tunstall is an explosive back in Southeast Kansas. He is currently ranked No. 33 overall in the Kansas Class of 2025. As much as I would like to head to my old stomping grounds in southeast Kansas it just does not fit in my schedule this fall. Tunstall rushed for over 1,500 yards and found the end zone 18 times on the ground.

[player_tooltip player_id='285715' first='Harrison' last='Potucek'], RB, 5'11”, 155, Andale

Potucek is a three-sport prospect from Andale currently ranked No. 99 in the Prep Redzone Kansas rankings. He can play running back or linebacker. He excels in basketball and on Andale's track-and-field team. Andale will be looking to return to state championship glory after having a four-year streak of championships snapped last year with Cheney winning the 3A title.

[player_tooltip player_id='1223954' first='Ty' last='Marbery'], WR, 6'5”, 205, Fort Scott

Fort Scott's Marbery is currently ranked No. 174 overall in the class of 2025. He is a big target and made the college camp rounds this summer. He runs tight routes and will be a key factor in the Tiger's offensive game plan.

[player_tooltip player_id='733209' first='Linkon' last='Cure'], TE, 6'6”, 210, Goodland

Cure is verbally committed to Kansas State University and is the No. 2 ranked athlete by Prep Redzone Kansas. He is an outstanding blocker and pass-catcher. Cure caught 42 balls last season for 946 yards and scored 14 touchdowns. The Cowboys will be looking to improve on a losing season in 2023.

[player_tooltip player_id='866505' first='Conlee' last='Hovey'], TE, 6'5”, 225, Louisburg

I picked two tight ends for this list because right now there is a deep pool of Kansas talent at that position. The Wildcats' tight end is currently ranked No. 19 overall and the third-ranked tight end in the Kansas class of 2025 behind two guys headed to Power Five schools. Hovey has multiple Division I offers including offers from Army and Dartmouth. Louisburg will be in Santino Bernal's scouting area.

[player_tooltip player_id='1115498' first='Scott' last='Moore'], LB, 6'5”, 235, Girard

As much as I would like to make a trip to southeast Kansas to watch some football and get a Mall Deli sandwich, it is not going to fit into my schedule this fall. Moore is currently ranked No. 38 overall in the class of 2025. Girard is a program I have a ton of respect for and covered when I worked for the Morning Sun. We have Moore listed as a linebacker, but he can also play tight end. He made 35 catches last season for 628 yards and 10 touchdowns. He has multiple offers from FCS and Division II programs.

[player_tooltip player_id='570192' first='Ashton' last='Moore'], LB, 6'0”, 185, Louisburg

Louisburg's Moore has verbally committed to play for Kansas State. He is ranked No. 16 overall. Moore can play on both sides of the ball. During his junior season, he collected 107 total tackles and rushed for 947 yards and 10 touchdowns for the Wildcats. I might not get to see Moore play on a Friday night this season but look forward to watching him play on Saturdays in Manhattan.

[player_tooltip player_id='1115461' first='Axl' last='Norris'], DB, 6'0”, 165, Wellington

Norris is ranked No. 106 overall by Prep Redzone Kansas. He is a ball-hawking defender versatile enough to play multiple positions. During his junior campaign, Norris picked off three passes, broke up four pass attempts, recovered one fumble, forced two fumbles, and accumulated 44 total tackles including 11 TFLs.

[player_tooltip player_id='285721' first='Landon' last='Preston'], DB, 6'11”, 190, Andover Central

Andover Central should be an impressive squad to watch and could make a run at the state title. Preston is ranked No. 188 overall by Prep Redzone Kansas and will be a leader on the Jags' defense. He is a hybrid linebacker/safety who racked up an eye-popping 118 total tackles last fall. He can wreak havoc in the backfield finishing with three quarterback sacks and 11 TFLs a season ago.

[player_tooltip player_id='1115466' first='Jason' last='Smart'], DB, 6'1”, 160, Parsons

I watched Parsons play the first year I scouted for Prep Redzone, but I don't expect to catch the Vikings this season in person. Smart is ranked No. 103 and has an offer to play for Culver-Stockton. Smart is a two-sport prospect who also excels on the hardwood. He finished with five interceptions for the Vikings as a junior. He made 29 total tackles, made 13 pass breakups, and recovered two fumbles.
