3A-Region 5 Team MVP's

East Nashville: ‘26 (RB) [player_tooltip player_id='971296' first='Keith' last='Johnson']

Liberty Creek: (RB) Mack Tuggle

Maplewood: ‘26 (RB/LB) Derrick Williams

RePublic: (RB) Jamonte McCray

Stratford: (WR) Glendarrius Humphrey

- One of the top college prospects from the 3A ranks, Johnson is a dynamic runner that has a nose for the end zone. The Eagles junior running back put teams on notice last year as a sophomore that he is legit and I think Johnson can push for a 2,000 yard season this Fall. The Wolves will be leaning a ton on Tuggle this year to be their top offensive weapon. He is undersized but the guy can run, so keep an eye out for this Mid-TN ball carrier throughout the season.

There is a lot to learn about Maplewood and RePublic this season as both team's appear to be behind the sticks when it comes to overall talent. Finding their team MVP's was tough but I think Williams and McCray appear to be good selections and two ball carriers to watch this season. Stratford actually have a couple of options but I feel Humphrey's importance on offense as well as special teams will be big towards the Spartans success

3A-Region 6 Team MVP's

Cheatham Co.: (WR/RB) [player_tooltip player_id='603896' first='Tydarius' last='Bright']

Fairview: (RB) [player_tooltip player_id='1200977' first='Travon' last='Murry']

Stewart Co.: (Ath) Evan Page

Sycamore: ‘26 (RB) [player_tooltip player_id='1199149' first='Hicks' last='Hunter']

White House-Heritage: (WR) [player_tooltip player_id='1557110' first='Aric' last='Lopez']

- A versatile offensive threat with the ability to hit the big play, Bright has a shot to boost his recruiting stock this Fall with a productive senior year while helping lead his Cubs team into postseason play. Murray returns for his senior year as one of the top rushers on the 3A level that has a great shot at competing for Mr. Football. He is a hard nosed runner that will also gain snaps and produce on defense at linebacker. The Rebels have many questions headed into the season with team MVP up for grabs. Page is a guy that looks like a player that can be the team's top back and offensive producer this year.

If you want a breakout star for the coming season in the 3A ranks, Hunter may be your guy. Last year as a sophomore, the War Eagles ball carrier ran for over 1,600 yards and 17 touchdowns and I think he can surpass those numbers this Fall. Hunter is a definite candidate for Mr. Football that the opposition will definitely be keying on this year. The Patriots are a team to watch and Lopez is a big reason why. The White House-Heritage senior wideout is one of the top production based receivers returning for the 2024 season that will need to have another big year for his Pats team to compete for a region title.

3A-Region 7 MVP's

Bolivar Central: (Ath) Jayden Kessler

Covington: (RB) [player_tooltip player_id='1110699' first='Skylan' last='Smith']

Dyersburg: (DT/OL) [player_tooltip player_id='611975' first='Kalen' last='Edwards']

Liberty Tech: (Ath) Ethan Schweer

McNairy Central: (RB/LB) Kelby Taylor

Ripley: (LB/RB) [player_tooltip player_id='1110709' first='Sammie' last='Smith']

Scotts Hill: (RB) Jaxxon Wallace

Westview: (DE/LB) Malik Smith

- Bolivar Central is having to replace some key starters from last season, so new guys will be stepping into key roles this year, including Kessler, who should be taking snaps on both sides of the ball. One of the top returning backs from the 3A ranks, Smith is a multi year starter and big time producer with the ball in his hands, who should compete this year for Mr. Football. He is also a back that can run his Chargers team in contention for a state title. Committing recently to Kentucky, Edwards is a load in the trenches that many O-linemen within the 3A level can not block. His strength and athleticism up front is college ready and I think this Fall might be some of his best work yet. Liberty Tech is sitting behind several teams in this region, so every top player for them will need to shine, including Schweer.

A surprise team in this region could be McNairy Central and one guy who could be their star this year is Taylor. A two-way talent with good upside for the college game, Taylor is a physically well put together young man that should excel as the team's top ball carrier and linebacker. A hidden gem out of the West TN area, Smith is an athletic young man with great size and a skill set that can take his Tigers team into the top half of this region. He is a sleeper candidate for Mr. Football that can take his recruiting stock to another level this Fall. Wallace looks to be the next guy in line to tote the ball for his Lions team. He will need to have a big season for Scotts Hill to be in the mix for a playoff spot. Smith has chance to boost his stock significantly this Fall with a big senior year. He is the team's top pass rusher and one of the best in this region and maybe classification.

3A-Region 8 MVP's

Bolton: (Ath) Daniel Wade

Douglass: (RB/S) Keith Washington

Hamilton: (LB) [player_tooltip player_id='1170987' first='Kavion' last='Yancey']

Lakeland Prep: ‘26 (Ath) [player_tooltip player_id='1895555' first='Anden' last='Quinn']

Memp. East: ‘26 (RB) [player_tooltip player_id='1597256' first='Lorenz' last='Wright']

Raleigh-Egypt: (QB) Jack Barnett

Sheffield: (WR) [player_tooltip player_id='466266' first='Radarious' last='Jackson']

Wooddale: (RB) Jamarks Wright

- The Wildcats are poised to potentially have a big 2024 season and if they do, Wade will be a big factor in those efforts. A natural athlete with upside for either side of the ball, Wade's big play skills should be on full display this year for a Bolton team that could surprise many. Douglass is a team that I need to learn much more about this Fall, including Washington, who appears to be the team's top player. One of the top college prospects in this region, Yancey is a highly intriguing player on the defensive side of the ball that can be a game changer for his Hamilton ball club and push his recruitment forward. Quinn is a hidden gem from our junior class that should take his game to another level this year as one of his team's top playmakers.

Looking through the Memphis East roster, Wright looks like a guy that is ready to step into the lead role at running back and potentially lead this region in rushing. The Pharaohs may have the top quarterback in this region with Barnett. Now that's a big statement with tons to learn about Barnett this Fall but with his 6 '4 size and budding arm talent, I can see this Memphis area signal caller put forth a big senior year. The reigning Mr. Football winner for the Class 3A level, Jackson is a elite level talent in this state that should have another big year for his Knights team as well as bring home back to back Mr. Football awards. Wright is one of the more hidden gems coming out of the greater Memphis area this Fall. He is a talented back that I would not be surprised to see rush for 1,000 yards this season and eventually sign with a college program.
